  • i just saw this and my eyes like exploded with the sheer AWSOMNESS

  • @gingerwarlord Thanks. :)

  • Wow. The terrain is truly awesome.

Wouldn't it be amazing to play a game on that? :P

  • oh my dear lord... i must admit.. i've never seen anyone make terrain like you!! its insane!! the largest companys in the world could learn a thing or two from you.. GOD!! Amazing.. Just amazing mate!!!!!

  • Thanks. While I still think I have lots to learn, its nice to know others consider my work to reach such a high standard. Keep an eye out for future improvements. :)

  • @Terranscapes I agree with him. You are the best thing I have ever seen happen to tabletop terrain. Ever.

  • This inspires me to make a mountain! You wouldn't mind if i copied the design alittle????? :)

  • I would consider it flattery.

  • lol :)

  • It's a good compromise, for sure. as far as the cleanliness of the veneer while painting, flocking, "watering"; would simple masking tape work? You've likely already tried and I'm sure it's easier said than done. I don't know if the masking tape thing would work with the water work to keep it clean, I don't entirely know your technique. I DO know that the veneer would need dremel/dry fitting to fit the recess of the river, and something to keep it clean while pouring..

  • I love the board, truly top knotch, but my skills have never gotten better from a complement. I definately think the wood trim should be a staple, and I'm sure you have to do a great deal of trim work during construction before putting it on. But have you given any thought to finding a method to applying it before the paint and flock, after construction, and before pouring the water? That seem just kills me.

  • I understand about the seam between the boards and it does pose some unique challenges. The trim is applied after the flocking and before the water pour. It's easiest to apply it before painting/flocking as keeping it 'clean' would be extremely difficult during these processes. Some cleanup at the edges is possible however at the end. The water effects aren't level with the trim and so across the river it shows strongest. I didn't 'trim' the trim so it looks ok when boards are viewed alone

  • Its tricky to keep the trim clean if you put it on first. The water is poured after the trim, but since it is below grade, the trim shows above. I left it this way so the boards could be used alone or set up side by side preserving the clean look of the straight trim across the front. Its a bit of a compromise in the end.

  • nice

  • dude you get my vote and then i love the fact you have dark elves lol

  • This is great even for your work! I am really interested in the waterfall, I can never get the water the way I want. (My water effects suck... I'm on hills, trees, and fortifications.)

  • That's great! Just love everything on it..wow

  • OH yes, almost forgot. Molded rocks? How many different variants do you have around cause I would be afraid of obvious repetition there. Especially on larger stone fields.

  • I have several shapes and sizes to avoid that problem. Future videos should show this variety as different projects are completed.

  • I might have missed it but did you mention actually how you are doing the new water effect? Im guessing your using some sort of clear latex like material on the waterfalls but not sure at all if thats what your using on the rivers. Not natural latex in any case I suppose since that turns slightly brown when dry. Now that I think if it I might just try to use that for realistic rivers hm.

  • Didn't mention it. ;) Lets call it a trade secret for now for extra drama.

  • Also whats the new flocking method and how does is diver from the old one? You got my curious.

If your going to split up the maintain display boards you could perhaps ad in some sort of cave in it, heck it would make for a great place for a burial place or shrine. That way you would balance out a bit, yes it will have a noticeable seam where it splits but look at that awesome cave you get in return!

  • Flock is applied to dry board and then sealed with a homemade scenic cement. Not always possible on some work but worked well here.

  • That is Fandamntastic!!!! Thanks for sharing your work and your thoughts. Great way to learn and see what really is possible. I said it before but you could be working on model movie sets in Hollywood with that talent..

  • HOLY COW MIKE!!!!!!!!! That is INSAIN!!!!!! YOUR WORK IS FANTASTIC MAN I'll LET MY PEOPLE KNOW TO CHECK IT OUT!!!!!! I"M PROUD OF YOU BRO!!!!!!!:)

  • Thank you for you comments and you mention on your video. My subscribership definitely jumped! I am glad you like the work. :)

  • Absolutely fantastic. I've been following your videos for some time and I have to say the new waterfall techniques and the gradual grass puts your work over the top. If I had the money, and you had the time I would certainly commission a custom project. As it stands though I'll definitely be referring any of my friends who want terrain to your company.

In terms of the mountain not being shippable internationally, does that include Canada? (specifically Ontario)

  • Thank you. I'm not sure about Canada but I suspect so. UPS however has good rates to Canada and may carry it there. It seems like loading it on a plane is problem. (which makes little sense to me)

  • cool

  • I agree with you that this is your best work to date. It is absolutely amazing and has to be one of the best display boards I have ever seen.

@ kidurama - I would say that for something of that size and quality it is a very fair price. Just imagine the amount of time it takes to create and paint something that detail by hand.

  • Massachusetts so only a few hours. You can contact me at my email address mike(at)terranscapes(dot)com if you would like more specifics on location.

  • why do you charge so much are the mats expensive or it a time taker?

  • A project like this takes a considerable number of hours. Its size, level of detail, expense of materials involved (particularly the water effects) and planning to accommodate all the features and maintain a 'natural' look necessitate a higher price than you might assume on first glance.

  • how close are you too NJ?

  • can you make a how-to water effect vid please

  • I'm sorry but right now I am not doing any tutorial videos. (I just don't have the time. ) I'm flattered you like my work enough to request on though.

  • AWESOME!!!

  • one word ASOOMMMMMMMMM

  • Uh...all i can think of is, Wow.

  • I would like to start a fantasy army, its just that the gamesworkshop in NY is in the city, and it takes 2 hours to get there D:

  • wow

  • Looks fantastic, that cotton on the waterfalls really adds something extra to it.

  • diffently some of your best work!
