@Nejifangal1 YES!! Disney was at its best during this era. They lost the ball after The Emperor's New Groove (2001) because the movies no longer have great music, RIGHT!!!!
wow...didn't realize how this would make me feel as soon as i heard the first notes. *Sigh* brings back sooo many memories of childhood watching disney movies
i wish that this movie was made more recently so that i could actually meet the cast and crew. *sigh* :( at least we'll always have this to remember those people
@LoganHallard I posted something about Bambi on FB and a friend of mine knows a guy whose mother was the voice of young Feline. She just died within the last year or so. :(
i love this song bambi is my 2nd favorite disney classic i love the music my 1st is lion king. gotta love disney.screw you hannah fagtanna. thank heaven for walt disney classics or my childhood would have sucked.
@mandacoon when i say 90s cartoon i mean thats the type of cartoon they WATCHED then not made. Now a days we watch things like "fish hooks" and other shows which kinda dumb you down. so yeah...
When I was I child the Italian version of this film was with all the music in English....and now I discovered that they have translated its! O_O Awwww....my poor child memories! Y_Y
(I'm Italian, so sorry for my poor English ^///^)
This animation was absolutely groundbreaking. If anyone ever gets the chance, watch "The Reluctant Dragon" Its a Disney film and shows you inside the studios in the early years. You get to see how they filmed this and its just incredible. Or just look up the Multiplane Camera. Absolutely incredible stuff. If only they still made them like this.
I've made sure that my two younger brothers enjoy and appreciate the Disney I grew up with. Like Lady And the Tramp, Pocahontas, Bambi, Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, The Lion King, and Tarzan, ect.
My younger brother loves all the princesses and Tarzan =]
I think Tangled was a great example of what talent Disney has right now. But Up was a disapointment a while ago.
I think The Jungle Book has the best animation ever. It's so soft, yet the lines are rough. Same with Bambi! =]
The art work for this film is amazing, it really showed off the talent that the artists had, it's a shame Disney has become so reliant on all that computerized 3D stuff nowadays. :(
@ViperPrincess92 I just stumbled on the credits, seeing an animator from the 1930s who was one of my friends' dad, George Rowley. Saw George do some of his amazing work & hear comments about how Walt Disney was such a taskmaster!
I saw and loved the movie in the 1970s when deer stayed deep in the woods. They were rare and beautiful critters (stil beautiful).
I wonder if kids today still find the movie as enchanting now that deer are so common in suburbs at least here in Virginia. I love that the movie lacks all the noisy, streetwiseguy crap intended to hold the attention of adolescents of all ages.
@keouine I'm in the NoVa area and first saw this movie when I was 5. So I think it set me up to be enchanted with deer at a young age. Even today, I get a little sad when I see a deer on the curbside.
This is that song man! I remember I used to cry and felt so bad when bambi mom died and he went lookin for her! It still gets me alil! Bambi was so real to me when I was lil! Man I missed those days yall!....I feel sorry for these kids nowa days they missed out on alot. It seems as though the people who make movies and shows now have no morals or they know the parents and kids have no morals or values so they feed them the dumb stuff thats on tv now. We 90's kids are blessed! God bless yall!
This brings back so many happy childhood memories, I used to watch this a lot of as a child. I wanted a stuffed fawn doll for so long, and got one when I was in the hospital getting my tonsils removed when I was six. I'm 28 now, and I still have that doll, it's old, dirty, falling apart and sad looking, but it has so much sentimental value and happy memories that I'm keeping it!
i remember being five watching this movie. it is so full of emotion that it makes me sometimes wanna cry. the classical music makes it that much sweeter
I love listening to these old Disney songs... the older movies were the best :) The new ones are pretty crappy. These always remind me of my childhood...
in germany we have to make a presentation when we are in the 10th class, and i want to make it about walt disney films in the 2nd world war. this song is one of the best examples, together with the whole film, bcause it's about life, that life is going on and that will always exist, whatever happens.
This entire movie is absolutely beautiful, i watched it today for the first time in years, and i never really realised. The animation is just amazing, I love its realism, and how the colours are delicate and natural, as opposed to the bright colours and cute 'cartoony' characters in disney movies today. The classics are the best =D And such a lovely song, old music just makes me so...happy. =D
It's not always "cartoony", go watch The Chronicles Of Narnia, The Lion The Witch And The Wardrobe or Prince Caspian!! Think it's cartoony? Well this is not animation, The Chronicles of Narnia is.
I know I sound horrible but CGI animals are animation, not pictures being flipped really fast in front of a camera. I know I sound like a bitch but it's thrue, I got really annoyed when you said 'cartoony' and this is actually the same as something like George Of The Jungle today.
They were only trying to point out how they prefer the old style of movies from disney. Most people to be fair watch movies for the visual effect, not for how it's done. Regardless of how it's made, I think the old style is better than the new style becuase the new films seem to mainly be the animators showing off, and not paying any attention to minor details like script, soundtrack or plot.
That is something low to say! The animators put a ton of work into the animals, let's see if you think they're showing off after you watch the movies!
I'm sure they do put a lot of work into it, but I think that less effort seems to put into the rest of the film, so the final product isn't as good. I just think the older films like this were more of a complete package, whereas the newer ones seem to have lots of components competing for space and not working together.
That is completely untrue, if you'd actually WATCH the movie then you might see what i mean. Did you watch some bad movies in your life? I'm sorry if I sound rude but the Chronicles Of Narnia are surely spectacular movies and same with Star Wars (even tho i hate star wars).
This were one of the first disney movies I have... But this is really Walt Disney quality, and it's a shame that they don't make movies like this anymore. So timeless and made with passion and skill. I used to love this song when I was a kid, so thanks for uploading ^^
I have the soundtrack self...it is an great number but the lyrics are so great! 1 on the best Dinsey song but not better than "When You Wish Upon a Star"
This song is way better than nowadays cheesy songs- a lot of shouting and yelling nonsenses lol- this one has simple instruments, beautiful choirs and a senseful singer. Very Beautiful- I really love it! =D
It reminds me of that year, where I was very sick and wacthed Bambi with my grandparents. That song and these pictures recall many memories and I remember I cried in a long time, after Bambis mothers dead.
This song is one of the best, most memorable and most timeless songs Disney has ever come out with. It suits the movie perfectly. It is beautiful, yet sad.
