It makes me sick to my somach to see some of the hateful comments about TWLOHA. All they are trying to do is help others who are suffering. I've had friends who cut themselves and I wish I knew about TWLOHA so I could've helped them. I myself have also thought ending my life. So to everyone who has just hateful things to say, just shut up.
I remember when I was a 7th grader(my first day of school) the girl who sat next to me looked at my arms and said,"I know how you feel. It's an addiction. And Love is the movement. So hey kid,I love you." We ended up best friends and I've stopped cutting&&she rarely does it anymore.Having a stranger tell you that..It's just awesome. So i tell new people who I know cut themselves that exact thing hoping they take it seriously and realize something.
NOONE wants to hear someone's opinion if it's different from theirs.
that's racist! YOU'RE a racist! everyone knows that if you wrote on a black person's arm you wouldn't be able to see it. i guess we caught on to your little scheme, huh? are you saying we should legalize slave labor?
i guess white kids just get jealous because they aren't as good at sports, & that's why black kids stay healthy and happy, because they're always so active. forget about the writing, just join a basketball team!
I can definitely relate to his story. Especially for his friend.. Just wanna say. "I'm with you" and to many other people who are going through depression and addiction.
I'm so happy that someone out there is spreading the word about self injury & educating people who don't understand it & helping those who struggle with it
Every time I watch a video with Jamie in it & I hear the passion in his voice, I get choked up & want to start crying
They are a non-profit movement. They make nothing off selling the shirts. Does it even matter if the story is real or not it has help so many people worldwide.Thats the most important thing.

My age doesn't have anything to do with this and the fact that you claim to be a proffessional sickens me, it's bastards like you who make things worse.
I don't understand your guys' problem. Jamie and everyone else from TWLOHA is trying to spread the word about their movement in an effort to reach the minds of some people who are having problems that he talks about. When someone has these kinds of problems and finds out about TWLOHA and what it's about, they feel connected to them and it helps them get through their pain. If you don't like their cause, fine. But don't criticize them for what they are trying to do.
Well, that is horrible if it is true. I'm not sure either way, but if this is helping people out there, then I guess it is at least doing something right.
They let people know that they are loved. They focus so little on just cutting. Its more than that. Haven't you ever felt like you just needed someone to talk to? That is what they do. They spread the word. That's where the money goes. That's what the t-shirts are for. To spread the word. You may think its a trend, but it is far from ineffective. And they don't have to be professionals to help. When a friend asks for your help, do you tell him/her to go to a professional? I sure hope not...
It's so annyoing how people are coomenting on how much bs this all is. Regardless of wether the story is true or false, the problem is true and is out there. The statistical facts he says in the video are true. He's doing it for a good thing, and so should you.

Renee's story is an embellishment to the point of fantasy. I grew up with her, went to school and church with her. Knew her family. I went through treatment centers and was in juvenile prison most of high-school. That's why this gets me upset, because it's bullshit. How about you and TWLOHA give respect to people with legitimate problems?? (Vomit)

This movement means a lot to the world, and I'm very thankful you created it -- I was a cutter when i was younger, and dealt with it alone -- Now, my youngest sister is battling depression and stuff, and she found "To write love on her arms" --
I can't thank you enough for the support that your existence means to people like my sister and I.
cutting has been a part of my life for a while now do to depression a friend i really care about wants me to stop and told me about TWLOHA it has really helped.
I have suffered from depression ever since i was nine when my dad died, and over time i believed it would get easier, but it didn't, things only got harder and harder and thoughts of suicide seemed more and more promising, but now i've found of about TWLOHA and i've realized its not the answer. You guys are the crutch that i needed, and i thank yall from the bottom of my heart for helping me and many others who have suffered from the same thing as me.
My boyfriend's dad commited suicide 2 years ago & he feels that he should push away the feelings. He's afraid the same could happen to him, I showed him TWLOHA & he is starting to understand & now he even wants to take couselling to have an unbiased opinion on what he has to say.
yeah i understand, ive lost 1 very close friend to suicide, and ive saved the lives of several others, one of my friends took an entire bottle of painkillers in his attempt, i ran to his house and sat there in the rain with him, i ripped the sleave from my shirt to stop the bleeding on his arm. when i tried to call an ambulance he punched me in the face, pretty good for someone who couldnt talk coz he was coughing up so much blood. But if i had to do it again, i would.
my friend told me she wanted to die, and she started drinking cough medicine and taking nurofen. She never fully attempted though. I know i would have done the same.
you are heroic i wish you had existed when i was a kid, locked in institution, no advocate.. filled w rage & sadness i made it & you are a light indeed ! -- many blessings, with LOVE,ALWAYS xxxxx Margarite d'Arsinoe
i suffer depression, and i think that this whole orginazation is so meaningful it helps you know that your not alone. i have taken a pencil and cut my hand before, i thought it was just something but when my mom and parents saw they got scared, and told me i was depressed. Its hard for me to talk about but TWLOHA is so important. i love yall(:
I'm the person who doesn't know why people would do all that sort of stuff, and I really want to know. Could someone please explain it to me? It's time I learn.
These people cut their arms because they havent got the strength to deal with things internally, it makes them uncomfortable, and when they cut, the pain becomes external, and easier to deal with. It is not a great method to help with the pain, but its the only one they know. Thats why i appreciate TWLOHA so much, they offer a helping hand to these people. they offer something that has never been given before. They offer to write love on their arms.
All that being said, I know Jamie's heart: he believes in God. I'd say, in traditional terms, he's Christian. I'm not. I've been down that road too. Looking at TWLOHA and what they're trying to do and using that as a detriment.. I know where you're coming from. I support them, just not because of that. Because for every 4 friends I have today, I have lost 1 to suicide. And I personally would love to see that number fall dramatically.
But there's people like this who can help, just by doing something like this. It starts small. I got like.. 200 of those little rubber wristbands and I give them out at shows. Maybe they just keep em and don't get it, sometimes they ask about it, sometimes they know, or maybe they pass it on and change someone's life. I used to work at this treatment centre in Ontario, Canada. Depression is blind to all people but affects all types. Jamie's not a rockstar. He's still very humble.
Guys! I've lost more than one friend to suicide and yeah, it's not just one or two people. Some people get sick and (in order to keep their families from having to pay these HUGE hospital bills) they think suicide is the answer. That somehow, not having to deal with it makes it alright. It's not one thing. 14 year old kids drink at parties and get killed by drunk drivers. Sometimes drivers that wanna crash so badly they kill themselves. Drinking yourself to death. I've met them.
I Heard about it becuase of a tee shirt that i thought looked great. I went and read the story through the site and fell inlove then spreaded the word. I love the look and its going to a great cause.
Alsoo if they didnt make the tee's look sweet how are they supose to make money? Donations of crouse, but whos gunna donate if they dont get anything with the econemy as it is.
one of my best friends recently confesed to me that she cuts herself.i have gone through depression myself.i`m not sure what to really do.she doesn`t want me to tell anyone.i`ve tried to help her in as many ways as i can without reaveling her secret.i`m know its stupid to keep her secret when she is on the road to suicide...a road i`ve been on.i know the pain but i dont know what to do.
It is definitely hard, taking those steps and getting your friends and loved ones help. I used to be very reserved about being honest and up front with this huge issue. It took someone like Jamie to open me up to approaching people and talking candidly about it. I sincerely hope you can make those necessary crossroads into your friend's life.
I love twloha. Its pretty much the best thing in the world. Thank you Jamie. and Thank you Renee. and David. and just everyone who was part of twloha i love you and thanks for the healing! <3
it very nice and i finally get the whole story and yes,it's very sad,but there was a reason for it being sad.the reason was to help other people and their struggles.
i love this. and my mom is even into this. at 50 years old she is wanting a shirt and i've been able to give someone she works with the website for her niece who is cutting. this gives me a purpose.
I think whatever exposure they get is amazing. if people where the shirts because it looks cool, then fine. maybe they'll find the story amazing, or someone else that actually cares or needs Renee's story will see the shirt and read her story. it can only do good.
This is probably one of the most amazing and inspirational organizations out there! I've been a huge supporter of TWLOHA for a long time and I hope this story is told to more people across the globe!
Lets not put this down. I've supported the organization for 2 years, and I really hate that some people won't wear the shirt because everyone else does. Yes, it sucks that they don't want to check out the organization and wear the shirt cause it looks cool, but even if they are ignorant about it, the money they put towards the shirt is going to people in need. So what if it's a "mainstream" shirt. It's making a difference.
this kinda makes me mad that you were on the news :[
i support twloha sooo much, and i look forward to the new things you guys have to say.
but it just makes me mad how people obess of twloha just for style. its not a fashion style, its to help and support people who need help with their lives, and i HATE how stupid bitches dont understand that.
OMG i totally know what you mean, i have a friend who wears TWLOHA as if it were Abercrombie and i was talking about renee and jamie and she was like... "um who are they" its so frustrating
i know. TWLOHA has become a "Trend" all of a sudden and people think its "cool and hardcore" to wear it and all of this nonsense, you ask them what the shirts mean and their like uhhh... i don't know, and you want to kill them.
i just recently found out about it all and have noticed larger international bands wearing shirts i think it is a brilliant thing
and look at it a different way, who cares if its a trend, atleast the name is out, people are buying the shirts and the money is going to a good cause, and even if some people don't know, them wearing the shirts passes it on to other people that then may find out what it all realy is, maybe even people in the exact trouble its meant to help
That's exactly it really. That's how TWLOHA started getting big really. People noticing and taking an interest in the cause because of a t-shirt. And I think you hit on something big for them too: how many other charitable organizations are supported so readily by people who don't even understand the message? It's awesome how, even without the intention, even the most oblivious can still support something so amazing.
I always tell everyone about why i wear there shirts ^^ because i live in quebec CA and they don't always understand english i spread the word alot ^^
aww man i wish i watched it i love twoloha is the best ever i've supported it for almost a year already wooo <3 lol it was so long it looked like a panic at the disco song jamie is inspirational and funny lol
my mom struggled with depression for years. eventually, she realized she needed help, and shes doing great today. twloha's is an amazing organization and i hope the message gets spread to as many people as possible, so they can get help too. i was so happy when i found out this was going to be on national news!

I love how he says that these aren't American issues, white issues, or emo issues. These are people issues.
Thanks, Jamie, you really are an inspiration. ♥

this is my favorite speech for life.
it very nice and i finally get the whole story and yes,it's very sad,but there was a reason for it being sad.the reason was to help other people and their struggles.

i love this. and my mom is even into this. at 50 years old she is wanting a shirt and i've been able to give someone she works with the website for her niece who is cutting. this gives me a purpose.
mary12990 3 years ago 3
beautiful.
aubreyilyx3 3 years ago 4
I think whatever exposure they get is amazing. if people where the shirts because it looks cool, then fine. maybe they'll find the story amazing, or someone else that actually cares or needs Renee's story will see the shirt and read her story. it can only do good.

This is probably one of the most amazing and inspirational organizations out there! I've been a huge supporter of TWLOHA for a long time and I hope this story is told to more people across the globe!

TWLOHA is the most amazing thing... everrr
toadkid 3 years ago
Lets not put this down. I've supported the organization for 2 years, and I really hate that some people won't wear the shirt because everyone else does. Yes, it sucks that they don't want to check out the organization and wear the shirt cause it looks cool, but even if they are ignorant about it, the money they put towards the shirt is going to people in need. So what if it's a "mainstream" shirt. It's making a difference.

this kinda makes me mad that you were on the news :[
i support twloha sooo much, and i look forward to the new things you guys have to say.
but it just makes me mad how people obess of twloha just for style. its not a fashion style, its to help and support people who need help with their lives, and i HATE how stupid bitches dont understand that.
haleykab 3 years ago 3
OMG i totally know what you mean, i have a friend who wears TWLOHA as if it were Abercrombie and i was talking about renee and jamie and she was like... "um who are they" its so frustrating
beckyboesch 3 years ago 2
ughhhh that would make me so mad. lol.
i just wanna stab people like that
haleykab 3 years ago
i know. TWLOHA has become a "Trend" all of a sudden and people think its "cool and hardcore" to wear it and all of this nonsense, you ask them what the shirts mean and their like uhhh... i don't know, and you want to kill them.
gabbyetch 3 years ago
not everyones like that
i just recently found out about it all and have noticed larger international bands wearing shirts i think it is a brilliant thing
and look at it a different way, who cares if its a trend, atleast the name is out, people are buying the shirts and the money is going to a good cause, and even if some people don't know, them wearing the shirts passes it on to other people that then may find out what it all realy is, maybe even people in the exact trouble its meant to help
JordanUH 3 years ago
very true i had no idea and i noticed the shirts and was like what is that and it is great that they are getting money for a great cause
fightbusteddorks 3 years ago
That's exactly it really. That's how TWLOHA started getting big really. People noticing and taking an interest in the cause because of a t-shirt. And I think you hit on something big for them too: how many other charitable organizations are supported so readily by people who don't even understand the message? It's awesome how, even without the intention, even the most oblivious can still support something so amazing.
TheBuriedRomantics 3 years ago
Yeah, that can definitely be frustrating to deal with. It opens up a great opportunity to spread the message though.
TheBuriedRomantics 3 years ago
I always tell everyone about why i wear there shirts ^^ because i live in quebec CA and they don't always understand english i spread the word alot ^^
