of course, but you would have to learn at least to recite the fatiha (a very short verse, the first verse in the qur'an) to do your prayers and some other stuff in Arabic to do your prayers.) but you can be of any language, any race to be a muslim(Surrenderer) to God. There is no racial superiority or hierarchy in islam.

Subhanallah (Glory be to Allah)...My advice to you brother will be to ring up your local mosque and speak to the management, make an appointment to go down there and have any questions answered by the qualified Imam (scholar) and Inshallah (By the will of God) he will take you step by step through the process.

your mosque can give you things to read on...Mohammed (pbuh) he knew things about human existence before anybody else did...for example he referred to the human embryo as looking in its first trimester like a piece of chewed matter...if you see a photo of one, you will see what he was talking about...the spine looking like the teeth marks.
