I work at a shooting range where i help instruct a Conceal and Carry Class, the class we teach has the same clause as georgia, and with a conceal and carry permit when they run the license plate it identifies that the suspest has a conceal and carry permit. ALSO you are not REQUIRED to inform an officer that you have a weapon IF you have a conceal and carry permit. HOWEVER if you don't have a permit, and the weapon is in plain view you ARE required to inform them.

Those of yall with a georgia concealed carry permit need to read the back of the card!! You are required to present the card to the police which this guy refused to do. Put yourself in this officers shoes for a minute, guy has a gun inches from his hand which he doesn't tell you about but another officer sees and tells him not to reach for it and driver is moving toward it anyway. HELLO!!! he is lucky he didn't get shot!

I have my GFL to hand...The back of it specifically says: "It shall be an affirmative defense to the violation of this Code if a (sic) notifies a [LEO]...of a public gathering of the presence of such item [asap] after learning of its presence..." This indicates that you need only tell the cops you have a gun if you are at a public gathering. Sounds like *you* need to read the back of your GFL card!!! There was no call for the officers' behavior.

Well if you are an officer of the law, be prepared to be sued. Just HAVING a gun on you in a state that ALLOWs people to carry guns is NOT justifiable cause to point your gun at somebody. Been proved in court.

It is not illegal to own a gun, and in GA it is perfectly legal to carry said gun provided you have a Georgia Firearms licence, which this gentleman has. You are also not required to tell anyone you have a gun. These Cops oversteped their bounds, every time I have been pulled over(I live in GA) if the cops ask and I tell them its no big deal. Then again I dont spend much time in Glynn CO. They are still part of the Good Ole Boys up there. Cops are not a special class of citizen.

I know some police that are good guys, friendly people just doing a job. But there's bad guys out there everywhere, and unfortunately some of them become cops.
