How can he play so fast yet take so long to get to the whammy bar? It gets on my nerves that he keeps interrupting his own playing when he reaches for it.
@neoclassic09 andy james and guthrie govan use them.....theyre incredible players. A string dampener gets rid of the string noise when rolling fingers during sweeps and multi finger tapping, this guy can play. Whats pathetic is your lack of understanding of this, he can play...... dummy
@sackvilleshredder123 except most of the time they don't and you don't need one to mute the strings when tapping or sweeping unless you are shitty at it.
I finally understand the quote "Its not WHAT you play, but rather its HOW you play it" the ideal should be melody, If its fast great if its not.............great to.
its amaizing. but its not music, he strikes me as a guy who just dosent know how to write music. its excellant but when u look at vai and satriani you dont just awesome technique but amaizing skill in writing. when he writes a top ten hit i will be indeed impressed
kahuna390 --> This doesn't really display writing skill because it's a shred. If you look at some of his improv, you will see that he does indeed possess some amazing skill in writing music.
Actually it's a form in traditional music called cadenza where a musician, many times a violinist, shows his or her technical prowess. Music is a science, sport and art.
thats true. but actually i have learnt and studied the greatest pieces of: paul gilbert, john petrucci, steve vai, and yngwie malmsteen, and the only thing they really do is the 3 string pattern over and over again. they use that pattern in every lick (every alternate picking lick, that is) but it sounds much better because they blend it in with accuracy. thats IMO.
how does he hammeron and pulloff that much, and that fast?! i can barely pull off 2 notes down to another and make it sound clean and without the sound going away lol
It takes years. Tone has quite a bit to do with it but he's an incredibly clean guitarist too. You rarely hear click a string or something along the likes.
ive considered maybe entering that contest before...but after watching this im just going to give up real guitar and play that guitar hero video game like the cool people do. But serriously your playing both intimidates and inspires me and I thank you for that :)
sweet i have a vid playing in the same scale! check it out its called "Shredin' Guitar"

Great job! I try to shred but it always LOOKS like I'm going much slower, even when peeps say it's fast. Guess it's how you developed your fingers.
