What did the government do? Beat anybody who showed any kind of resistance, and then arrested who they could.
It's unfortunate that the people are not allowed to speak out freely, without being punished for it.

If an Iranian news station came and interviewed a bunch of chavs they'll probebly state the "injustices" and "prejudices" they are suffering. There is a problems, iran doesnt want the kind of democracy the coalition introduces in Iraq. 1 million dead, 3 million displaced...but they can vote now!

Aaah, but here's the thing - if an Iranian news station came and interviewed these people, would the government allow the news station to broadcast their report? (You know how the government there doesn't like people speaking out against them, and will censor and do anything to quiet/silence the people.)
I wouldn't want Iran to have the democracy the coalition is trying to introduce either, but yet, at the same time - I would want the government to do what they're currently doing now.

maybe the British and Americans set things off, but dont forget that many Iranians/Persians were fighting to get rid of the Shah. And the current problems with women and such are caused by Muslim beliefs, which i doubt any American or Briton supports.

I looked up this verse you are quoting. You have to be careful when looking up verses from Quran on the internet since Quran is written in arabic. Also it is written in a very vague language that leaves it open to interpretation. I found a few different translations that range from discriminating to vague and almost nonsense.
I do not practice Islam so dont judge me. I just want people to base their judgments on sound arguments.

Muslims argue at length how Islam gives equal rights to women. But look at the plight of women in the middle east, seriously I feel sad when I look at these vidoes. And what equality is this, men get to marry four women. Infact women are not even allowed to work. Saudi Arab follows Islamlic laws, women are not even allowed to drive. Freedom is the best joy of life. God bless America...I am glad to be here. I wish i could do something for these women.

Quran does not say go ahead and marry 4 women. There are certain conditons that have to me met which almost makes it actually impossible to marry 4 women. It says a man has to be capable of treating all his wives EQUALLY, EMOTIONALY, FINANCIALY, etc, which is almost impossible. therefore it can't be done.
