Copied or not, Elves and Orcs were pretty much established as popular races in the lotro books. It shouldn't matter if there are other similarities. We could get technical that people use swords or wear armor in different games, but that wouldn't make much sense either.

@Mitcheeta there have been pictures of the witch king since the 50's. and why cant you copy the books image? it gives you a detailed description of what someone looks like. Blizzard is not original they are using things from greek myhtology, christianity, buddhism, etc etc. Not a diss to them I actually think its quite interesting how they have taken all these different stories and blended them all together.

Yeah, Blizzard has yet to add anything to the industry. Would be great if Blizz finally contributed something to the industry.

Well men seem to be the prominent figures fighting in LOTR, but it shouldn't rule out women being able to do stuff others can't. Aragorn was still concidered a "man" even for living as long as he did. Gandolf was a wizard, so even humans had some magic to them. It shouldn't be that unlikely that a woman couldn't also do something unusual. Only the author knows for certain, but her being a woman seems the most popular theory.

When he was 87 (at the time frodo left the shire) he was nearing the prime of his life. The sword is what ner'zhul used to control him and manipulate him into becoming a death knight. If you read the book, wearing the helmet MERGES him with the previous lich king, making him the new one. As soon as that happens, he destroys the previous lich king. l2 lore

@scAlpha7 Even if that weapon is the only thing that can kill the Witch King (which personally I don't believe) but he's beatable who's to say the Lich King can't beat him and then wait until he returns to beat him again? He is immortal after all. My point is that the Witch King doesn't win by default on the basis that supposedly he can't be killed except by one type of weapon. Imo this should be a heavyweight boss fight which would be more interesting and lead into another discussion.

In this case since Frostmourne can be broken The moment it touched the Witch King's Immortal flesh it would be shattered and just like it would result in him being defeated since as far as I know he was Killed after Frostmourne being destroyed and the souls trapped inside escaped and immobilized him. Sauron's armies never actually get defeated til he gets killed. If it wasn't for the luck of the hobbits sauron's army would have smeared the human's. the difference I see? Sauron was defeated by chance, the lich king was defeated by force.

It might make sense if a elf could, or a wizard, or even a dwarf. Since they are completely different races but a woman is part of the human race. Well men seem to be the prominent figures fighting in LOTR, but it shouldn't rule out women being able to do stuff others can't. Aragorn was still concidered a "man" even for living as long as he did. Gandolf was a wizard, so even humans had some magic to them. It shouldn't be that unlikely that a woman couldn't also do something unusual. Only the author knows for certain, but her being a woman seems the most popular theory.

When he was 87 (at the time frodo left the shire) he was nearing the prime of his life. There is nothing significant about Eowyn that suggests she would be capable of killing an evil shade, let alone the witch king.

@restingdeath I've played WoW since its inception and played wc3 before that. The helmet is the only piece of armor that has any power, all the other armor Arthas obtained when he was a death knight. The sword is what ner'zhul used to control him and manipulate him into becoming a death knight. If you read the book, wearing the helmet MERGES him with the previous lich king, making him the new one. As soon as that happens, he destroys the previous lich king. l2 lore

@derekgornall trolololol lotro was made in 30's/40's so it took soooo long for poor lotro to become a video game and get players to play it..blizzard did that in 10 years instead for 50+ years ROFL! in the eand wow is WAY better than lotro could ever be..

@megaboy217 If you weren't 8 years old, you might've known by now that video games never existed until the end of the 60s, and have only been really popular since the 80s. Blizzard started in the 90s, when video games were reaching their prime. Hell their franchise started as a video game. LotR was a set of books, the original entertainment for people that has sadly diminished in use by the younger generation. See "you" for more details.

@TheLacrosseguy69 lord of the rings has been a folk tale for years. put into a book and a movie. the litch king is a fictional character that raised the dead and sought control. Ive played both games and by far lotro is extremely better. Just shows all of the immature idiots that play wow.
