Look up Vedanta Hinduism, Buddhism, or Process Theology/Philosophy. The base layer of reality is "experience", "God" or "Dharmakaya". Everything is ultimately a mental experience, not physical at all. The universe is in fact one giant intersubjective Mind looking at itself in an almost infinite number of ways.

You mention thoughts and feelings as being 'subjective' and the blender as being 'subjective' as well. But to me there is a very striking difference; my thoughts and feelings are mine and are unknowable to the 'outside world'. The blender on the other hand can be experienced by anyone.

If the blender, like the glass building, is only pixels on your computer screen...so what? It is still an 'objective' reality as it can be experienced by anyone and it's existence is compounded by all our different view points describing it perfectly. What I'm saying is your point, although I agree 100% doesn't make a difference to our 'subjective' realities. We are still locked in the compact disc. Just part of the ones and zeros of the universe.

And that universe exists objectively. Be it on a CD or in the mind of God. The question still is; where does subjectivity (the first person) come from????????????????? To me there is still a paradox.

excellent parsing of experience, especially the analogy of the DVD containing the data and the Xbox reifying that data. Kinda like the Zero Point field containing all knowledge and our brains reifying that in chronological sequence, or something :-P ... I'm still working on this too... anyway, excellent effort

I think I understand at least part of what you're saying but I'm still confused.

I understand that my perception of the world is subjective. A car is just a bunch of organized atoms and how it looks is just an interpretation created by my brain.

However, the atoms are there and they are connected in a specific way that appears to me as a car.. but no matter how my brain would interpret it, it's still the same collection of atoms. So it's a real thing, independent of my experience.

There really is something out there, but what it truly is, we cant say. We can only model it in various ways, like 'car', 'combination of car parts' (chassis, motor etc), 'a collection of miniscule spheres' (ie atoms) or any way we find to be useful. All of the models above are mental, even the atom model. There is a real thing out there, independent of your experience, but its not a collection of atoms as you conceive of it. If it were, reality would be inconsistent! (We do not have a GUT yet.)

(2/2) The whole idea can become more managable by the simple fact that 'virtual' is a short, well-known word. It's practically begging for being made philosophical use of! 'Virtual worlds' (as an alternative to 'perspective'), 'virtual selves' etc become very much easier to deal with, conceptually. The paradigm itself could be called 'virtualism'. What do you think?

(1/2) Mind-blowing thoughts, superb presentation!

You probably won't believe me, but I've already come to a lot of the same conclusions (without being able to communicate them). You have no idea how great it feels to know there's someone out there who actually agree *this completely* with my own basic perspective on the world!

I've only got one objection, and that is to the term 'physical subjectivity'. I think the metaphor of virtual reality provides a much better word, namely 'virtuality'.

you've had me rethinking reality for a couple weeks, ive pretty much had to rethink everything, everyone who thought i was way out there before, thinks im just way too out of it now. but you are truly on to some things here. ive been looking into a lot of stuff related to this too. this is definitely a step past the forefront. i havent video responded because im still in thinking stage. Thanks!
