Percussion isn't played by one person they have someone playing triangle and snare, as well as some other percussion instuments. The drummer isn't too fast, he's playing at the same tempo the conductor wants it. It may seem like he's playing fast because the piece is written in 5/4 time. (i do believe)

I really like the arrangement. They went beyond the original and made it something more. The transitions are especially good!

The drummer issue is a camera placement issue. a) The camera's microphone is tiny and can't capture much dynamic range and b) it compresses sound so much that it picks up the closest sound (i.e. the drums) first, which drowns out the strings. I bet if the camera was placed in the audience, the sound would be much better.

I'm in the Klein Forest Orchestra, Guys The reason why the drums are so loud is becuase Mrs. Arnold (Conductor) wanted the orchestra to stay more together due the the huge amount of students playing all at the same time. There for she had the drumer pulse the beat as a metronome keeping 5 Orchestras together (Klein Forest consists of 5 ochestras Concert, Phil 2, Phil 1, Symphony, and Chamber) Thats a total of about 200-250 students in the All Combined Orchestra.
