@bombsquad68 if your fone already tried all the trouble step like turn on and off but it still the same then it is your digitizer broken just replace a new one/ because there was a crack in the wire

@bombsquad68 I just had this problem (literally just got done fixing it) and the Apple people said that holding down the home button (The circle button at the bottom with the square in it) and the lock Bottom (the only button on the top of the ipod) at the same time, it should reset it so that it will work again. I just did that with mine and it started working fine.

Hold down the Lock screen on the top and the home button on the bottom TILL the apple logo comes on! Even if the ipod goes off dont stop holding it... wait till the apple logo comes on and then it works! (:

every1 that was having trouble with my solution try it one more time then you would plug your ipod into a computer go to itunes and restore it i showed you the reset way if it works good if it dosent try and update your ipod hope this helped again btw when you reply to me it sends me a message in my inbox and i go on youtube daily so good luck :) (y)

@cardman563 Hey, you have to hold it down for at least 10, sometimes 20 seconds until the screen turns completely black. Then you should have no more problems. I have been doing some research on this problem, and I was told that some of the latest ipod touches are having problems with the screens coming loose inside the touch itself. If the first solution doesnt fix your problem, then you may have to take it to apple, much like I'm going to have to do. Good luck my friend :)

Not sure if this will help, but here goes nothing. I tried every solution posted on the internet for this problem. Then, one day while my screen was locked and black i held down the lock button until it came back with the lock screen and the power off option. After that my ipod has worked fine. i also must add it didn't have any water damage and it was an ipod touch 2nd gen 32gb. best of luck to you, and if it works spread the word :P

That happened to me to. Step 1,plug your iPod in to the charger and leave it on charge. Step 2,hold your home and lock button and don't let go until you see a iTunes picture. Goodluck!

Nd i just found out tonight about it. ok u need to press the home button for 5 seconds than while keeping your hand on the home button press the lock/sleep button. nd then it should show da apple thing than u need to connect it onto your computer nd let it back it up just like mine is doing right now. Ok, so I have to be honest I was going upstairs to get water dropped my iTouch it fell down a just a few steps I pick it up worried as heck. The white screen came up and I was worried. I watched this vid and 20000000 more. I held down the power button and home together and they send my iPod into a black screen that won't turn on or anything. you just need to hard reset it, hold down the power and home button till it completely turns off, then turn it on again and it should work.

guys the white screen of death isnt a software glitch all the time the other thing is you need open the ipod assuming you have the knowledge on how to do it, what you want to do is make sure your ipod is completely turned off then reinsert the lcd cable located at bottom left next to home button now power up and enjoy, this method is 95% guaranteed, if it doesnt work for you then im sorry buy a burrial site for your ipod.
