@frankisfunny2007 I don't understand where people get that pitbulls are mean vicious dogs. German shepherds, dobermans, and chihuahuas are meaner by nature than a pitbull. I absolutely love pitbulls, american bulldogs, and boxer type dogs and just because they may look intimidating, but the truth is most are sweet lovable dogs.

@OcarinaBrothers I absolutely agree. Where do people get these ideas? I have a boxer myself, and they're just absolutely lovable. I just can't help myself but to giggle every time I see a boxer because I know the owner has one lovable, and funny dog. Pitbulls are the same way, in a way, I act the same way around pitbulls as I do with boxers. I don't think (American) Bulldogs are any different (in personality).

@frankisfunny2007 I have an American Bulldog named Blue and he has never hurt a human being on purpose (he occasionally gets rowdy and will knock you over because he's so big but thats not mean) and he's never attacked another dog. We had a chihuahua/jack russell mix that would bite him and leave sores and he never attacked back. That chihuahua lives with my grandparents now because of that. He is amazing with small children. They are amazing dogs along with pits and boxers.

I have a white american bullog with a long snoop and she is skinny. She is called a pitbull all the time and she is the best dog ever! I know how you feel. The person who owns our lake at the lakehouse told us pitbulls arent aloud. My dad got an animal rights attorney and put a huge stack of papers about american bulldogs and told him if he has any questions to call this attorney.

haha my american bulldog does this! They love to talk to you and can be very vocal, she has to wait until our 2yr old girl goes to bed and then she knows its play time with daddy. so as soon as our baby's doorgate is shut, she gets what we call 'the gits' where she runs around and around like a crazy dog and then she sits infront of my husband and does this drama queen talking til he gets down and plays with her! I absolutly love the breed and will definatly be investing in another one soon! x

AW! thanks for posting! I had several american bulldogs growing up and they all did great on the leash. (and I was a kid btween 6 and 13 with them) No tugging or anything except with running cats. So long as they were slow everything was fine.

I just noticed your question, I have an 11 year old boy and he does not have problems walking Grits, on the other hand my 16 yr. old girl gets pulled down the road if he see's another dog or cat because he wants to go play. He's right at 80 pounds, thanks.

My AB weighs 105 and I weigh 115. If I don't use the gentle lead he will pull me down the road every time he sees a person he wants to meet..he's way friendly, a big puppy! I keep the part of the gentle lead that goes around his snout looser than the instructions say 'cause of his jowls.
