I tried using the LCARS boot animation someone made for the evo 4g...it plays for a bit but then cuts to black for a few seconds, then shows the home screen like normal
seems like I did it half right lol...followed your advice; what am I doing wrong?
Part and even worse on motorola's part. Motorola needs to release the kernel source for it. I saw cm7 ported over to it, but nothing is going to work without the kernel source. Gingerbread on this phone looks so damn sexy.
@settel100 you say that you don't have any issues with your phone. I'm not sure which of the three videos it's in but when your trying to click on something in root explorer, instead of selecting it, it just moved the page down slightly. You clicked on it like 3-4 times before it finally recognized what you were trying to do. This phone should have no issues, it should have also come pre-installed with gingerbread, not froyo. Gb has been out for almost 9 months now lol, lazy on virgin mobile's
@settel100 How did you get rid of the motorola screen? I know about bootanimation.zip and the power on/off sounds. Please let me know. I subscribed to you.
Alright so I got this application from the market so I could download boot animations and it silented my boot animation sound and I did what you said to do I had sound before that stupid app now I don't do you know how to reactivate the sound
WHERE did you get the sound file/mp3 for the shutdown, I have searched everywhere for it and cant find anything,.....thanks

@kidmash541
- download a bootanimation.zip from the internet.
- place bootanimation.zip onto your phones sdcard.
- open rootexplorer and navigate to you sdcard folder.
- inside your sdcard folder you will find the bootanimation.zip you just downloaded.
- long press the bootanimation.zip copy it then, navigate to your system/media folder and paste it there.
