  • Good catch @ 7:10! Thanks for posting!

  • what the hell is that nosie in the video?

  • us australians are so lucky...

  • I'm from Kansas to and it is FUCKING AMAZING HOW QUICK THE WEATHER CHANGES HERE!

  • @bikestunts123 Hey I'm from England and were thinking about moving down to Kansas. Thing's like this is one of the reasons I think I'd enjoy it there. How often does this sort of thing happen?

  • @Om3gaG4ming Well, im from Kansas City Kansas, and people will go around saying we get "HAMMERED" and it doesnt actually happen as much as people say it does. If you like being around tornadoes and stuff, you would like it here, but most of the real stuff is down torwards Southeast-Central Kansas or Northeast-Central Oklahoma. But Kansas has its share of Tornadoes/

  • @Om3gaG4ming BTW Kansas City Kansas is in Eastern Kansas, Missouri Border. just an FYI.

  • how can you tell whether the tower has an inverted or normal cap

  • You know you're in trouble when that fucked-up dude from the Discovery Channel shows up.

  • Alright MN chasers!!

  • ooh silent hill siren

  • Learn to use a camera, muppet.

  • That was brilliant, good job guys.

  • EF?

  • wow so awsome but i hate tornados (thank god i live in san antonio)

  • I would be peeing my pants. Cool footage, dude.

  • wish we had this weather in cyprus damn nice

  • wish we had this weather in california....so cool!

  • goooood

  • wwwwwwwwwwww

  • WHY WOULD THEY GO THAT CLOSE TO A TORNADO!!!!!!

  • @cemelvin226 They are storm chasers. They get a thrill out of this. Most would call them crazy. I admire them for doing what they love.

  • YOu know you're in the right place when you see the discovery channel crew. Awesome video.

  • i can't comment on one video without seeing a pair of tools arguing?

  • whollly crap thats huge

  • haha i have that exact same laptop at 6:38 lol

  • @robertgift Gee, I never thought of that. Thanks for the tips dipstick.

  • @UncleGrizzo Obviously you did not think of them.

  • We just had a tornado around the Toledo, Ohio area. Millbury, Ohio looks like a war zone...Hugs from Toledo, Ohio!!!

  • yay minnesota!!

  • mother nature is amazing.. she can do what ever she wants to .terrifying force that would change lives, forever.

  • Epic.

  • Note to self: UIf you see the TIV, get the hell out of town! Get ur pets if you must but run!

  • Whoa . . .

It looks like there's a double vortex forming there around 4:18

  • dude, sweet video

  • 1:05 was that from strom chasers

  • F3 I guess?

  • @FA22RaiseHell

    Close, it was an EF-4

  • Thanks. The Majortity of tornadoes reported are between EF-1 -4. 4 being the not so common and 5 being rare. That's why I made that assumption.

  • @FA22RaiseHell

yeah, and the vast majority of those are EF-0 and EF-1. It really takes a hell of a storm to produce EF-2 and stronger. Also I have noticed, funnel size does not indicate strength. Some half mile wide tornadoes have produced only EF-1 damage, while some "rope" tornadoes have produced EF-5 damage.

  • So size isn't in the matter when it comes to the strength of a tornado.

  • exactly. there have been many of these so called "skinny", "rope" and "stovepipe" tornadoes that have caused EF-4 and EF-5 damage. I regard tornadoes the same, regardless of size and or strength. If I see one coming, Im getting the hell outta there!

  • True..True. But it also depends on geographical location, that determins the amount of damage. Old buildings and other older structures are examples. I don't want to be too close to a tornado, but its exilerating to watch from a safe distance.

  • Good thing you moved, or you would have missed seeing this one. This tornado spawned from the same storm that I got my first video of a tornado in Lane County Kansas. I missed out on this tornado, because the road was rediculously muddy, so I couldn't keep up with this storm any more. Reed Timmer and his crew were on the same tornado that I was filming. They were on a road that was west of the one that I was on.

  • The calm way he says "holy fuck, there's a huge tornado there" made me laugh, just because I know I'd be yelling and screaming if I saw that beast coming.

  • Good, comprehensive view of the tornado over time. Plus, the low clouds at the beginning made it exciting to wait and see what would reveal itself. Suddenly!! Out of the overcast, the large stovepipe reveals itself. Good job

  • me and a group of friends who were trained in metorology took a trip to manitoba when we heard there were big storm brewing and we saw the dominator and the TIV but we went the opposite way, we were excited because we found the tornado but later found out so did reeds team, so it must have been good hunting grounds

  • Reed's Manitoba video was shot in 07, before he built the dominator. nice try though, dickwad. also, the the TIV guys aren't hardcore enough to chase outside of the US, because they're pussy-ass film makers, and not REAL chasers.

  • Whats with the use of the language, and yes it was in 07, doesnt mean he cant be there besides Shaun didnt take the TIV to manitoba the summber of 07 so before you go out trying to prove the world wrong sit and think about it. And also to the comment about shaun not being a real chaser, everyone knows he isnt thats why he was commanded by josh.

  • This is my hometown and no, no one died. Luckily. It was a very eery feeling though. I couldn't get ahold of my parents that day.

  • Did anybody die in this? because it looked like it could be a deadly tornado

  • you guys were there when the TIV showed up?

  • pause at 1:06 what is it

  • its the TIV,it was used in the series storm chasers on the discovery channel, the TIV was used so they could go into the tornado and see inside to try and understand tornados more

  • Actually the TIV was made for Sean Casey to get his infamous IMAX film shot. He made it out of pocket. He needs Josh to guide him INTO the tornado though, so Josh put instruments on the TIV to help with his research, as part of their agreement.

  • what's that noise along the video? a tornado alarm?

  • yep it's also called a tornado siren

  • after one minute i see a trange car...what is this?

  • its the TIV. tornado intercept vehicle

  • not the time to be driving that beater car that may or may not start lol

  • What an outbreak that was. I'll always remember the 22nd and 23rd 2008 in Kansas. It seemed like you couldn't miss seeing a tornado those 2 days. I saw 3 definet tornadoes on those 2 days of chasing. It was my first 2 days chasing ever. Those storms were so huge and menacing, especially for me since I had just moved from N.C. to OK nine days before all this happened. Kansas and OK have by far been my two best states to chase in so far. Tx & Ne, still waiting, I believe they'll give me one soon.

  • You all need to remember people are losing everything they own to these storms. Show a little respect. Ain't nothin funny about thatshit

  • I love how in all of your videos you have the weather warnings on the radio it sets the mood and gives me goosebumps :D

  • Yeah how awesome is it, really puts you there

  • thats some crazy s**t

  • i love those clouds

  • Fear the siren mor than the storm??? Very unwise my friend...

  • that werid car and the other car theyre on storm chasers :O

  • I just found this video while watching chasers on the Discovery channel chasing the same tornado. Then to see the TIV pass right by these storm chasers!!! How bizarre. Its like being there.

  • what was that flashing light from 1:36 to 2:26?

  • its a light on the highway, its the camera doing that

  • jesus that fucking tornado siren was annoying! the one in tennesse is barely bearable. ( spelling?) In Nashville, we have the air raid type sirens...it's fucking annoying. I fear the siren more than the storm

  • Till the twister comes tearing through your house, I wouldn't talk about fear D:

  • A big wedge tornado coming, I want that siren as anoying as possible.

  • @ldr1ff ha ha lots o'laughs!! big thumbs ups!!!! those save your and the parents that made your ass's lives. i listen and DO NOT think they are anoying, what if your hanging out, blinds closed? and no sirens? dead.... family gone... tee frikin hee!

  • That was a crazy view of the tornado. It looked so mean and mysterious in the hazy distance.

  • hey, have the same kinda laptop as me

  • Nice desktop there at 6:38. Was that Vivi from Final Fantasy 9?

  • i think so lol

  • holy shit is right... thats gotta be intense

  • wow, at 1:06 i seen that duded out truck on a storm chaser documentary on tv.

  • RIGHT ?

  • At 3:55-5:00 you can see us parked along side the highway. We were in the big red pickup. I in the white shirt taking video. Check out my video of the tornado :)

  • wow FATTY!!!! lol jk...ur prolly not fat.

  • I'm 5'8 and weigh 183

  • I chased on this day. We watched Quinter #1 as it approached the interstate, then the 2nd very brief one right after that. Deffinately one of my top 5 days of chasing.

  • i always had a fascination with tornados one of these summers i wanna come down there and chase a few with a team

  • at 1:08 was that the tiv (tornado intercept vehicle)? from that show on discovery channel?

  • Yes it is. We seem to run into those guy quite often on out chasing adventures.

  • wow thats cool did that guy ever get his epic hd shot?

  • I'm not sure. He did get some pretty sweet video last year.

  • @UncleGrizzo omg that must have been cool

  • @UncleGrizzo Epic. I love the TIV on discovery

  • @UncleGrizzo thats sooo cool! wow

  • the sierins sound like bagpipes.

    creepy

  • Most Sentry sirens do sound like that, due to their design. For what it's worth, I live fairly close to where those sirens are made, in Canon City, Colorado

  • cool tornado

  • Down here in okie, that's just another little rainstorm son. Come on down here to stiffen your balls.

  • those sirens are creepy and foreboding

  • damn those stormchasers are hardcore

  • Thanks for posting. I live in Connecticut and I see nothing like this. Freckin sick. I want to go out there just to experience it.

  • I remember there was once a big tornado that hit up there one time, maybe Massachusetts in the 80s, do you remember that ?,,,I also visited my uncles place in Morristown New Jersey long ago, they had a tornado up there that wiped a few homes clean.

  • omg it was the guys i love to watch on TV! that rock!... there cool! oh how i wold love to do what that do casing twisters big and small what a cool job thay do

  • learn how to spell, and grow up.

  • Stop being a fag and hurting his/her feelings. For you to say that YOU need to grow up my friend and by the way UncleGrizzo great footage! We never get anything like this in Ireland and if we do it's not even worthy of comparison. So, thank you for posting!

  • Thank you so much.

  • @MHRathalos True, though the number of thunderstorms we do get in winter isn't bad

  • OMG, i would run as hell!.

  • TIV! YAY!!

  • At least I'm not the only one who likes that tank. It maybe ugly but damn it's cool.

  • Hell yea. That shit was sick.

  • Amazing footage guys. Wow. Had me on the edge of my seat.

    Fantastic!!!

  • YEAH TIV!

  • that is our tornado siren going off

  • is that Scary movie sound the Tornado alarm?

  • very interesting

  • awsome view at 4:10

  • Hey eric this is Josh I like your video.

  • wow at 7:04 you can see the clouds forming a funnel and swooping to the ground!

  • I'm in the red car at 2:30 !! Hehe! You can see a short part of the same event in my "quebecvortex trailer" video

  • at 1:47 wat was that tower that was red and green?

  • it was? or saw it something else?

  • If I saw a sky like that approaching me ... could not chase, could not chase ... too chicken. I'd be the one hollering for a basement! LOL GREAT capture, adding to StormChase playlist. Thanks, Uncle.

    *StormSpinner1* in Texas

  • INCREDIBLE!!! Really scary with the sirens going off and a huge tornado approaching! After viewing the large 'elephant trunk' tornado WNW of Dighton, we tried to get back up to I-70 to intercept this thing, but got hopelessly delayed trying navigate extremely muddy/slippery dirt roads!

  • We live in Quinter, what a day that was! This town is sooo blessed. Had it hit in town, it would have been another Greensburg Ks. here. Good footage too!

  • LOL dude if you ever get hit by one your wife is going to kick your ass...

  • God thats nuts! Ive never seen a tornado before... Did you run into alot of chasing groups?

  • On Adverage, Theres nomrally no one chasing the Tornados, Besides Professionals, for the News stations, of course a few people are very Facisinated by Tornados and chase them.

  • Thanks for watching!

  • that's a monster! Had to be wild right under the circulation like that not sure if a tornado was going to drop down on your heads!
