well, when performing in a concert, the peformers usually wear earpieces to help them hear the music and themselves and the band more clearly. so, obviously, the girls could still hear the band since it was playing in their ears. the our speaker system just blew.
they were not lip-syncing. i went to the show in jersey. and my friends went to the show in ny and there is a part where geri just stops singing and laughs. so, there goes that theory.

The is still music playing, its just from the Foldback Monitors on stage, hence the reason there still singing and dancing (Just being professional - If you can call the spicegirls that!) Its just the front of house rig thats tripped out, so none of the audience can really hear.
surely it was a problem with the speaker close to the person who filmed this... the rest of the speakers are working cause u can hear some music (behind the screaming).

They hadnt even starting selling in those Continents! so thats bullshit. Besides there was talk of doing 11 dates in Australia before they announced their so called break. Their gonna return to finish it off where they didnt play with 3 new dates in the UK apparently - that should keep u lot pissed off for a while longer! :D
what i've heard is that when the confetti went off the machine fired backwards (due to the force), hitting the sound consoles (for the audiences sound) totally disconectting it, this however does not affect monitors(mixed from seperate console(s) ) which performers have in their ears on stage so therefore they continued oblivious

the truth is that the banknorth garden contract that they had said they could only be onstage for 1hour:45 minutes and they went over their time . i was told that by a guy that worked there . it was so fun thoughh .
Everyone on stage wears ear pieces to protect their hearing. The ear pieces have the audio in them so they can sing.They probably didn't know the audience couldn't hear them. So it doesn't mean that they're lipsyncing
if I would have been there I would have been like "IIIIH!!" and they would have been all like "Spice up your life!" and I would. I would start spicing up my life right there and then.
I love how everyone keeps saying "they didn't even notice the playback going off".....what did u expect them to do??....stop the performance and go "sorry, our mics have stopped working...give us 5 minutes to sort out the problem."....silly people....every professional performer knows that no matter what happens on stage, you must always carry on regardless. I think they handled it really well and it could have quite easily been part of the show.

OH P.S... no when a mic blows you're not going to hear a singular person singing in an audience that is screaming that loud. So no they weren't lip synching, right when everyone shut up i heard them singing.
I was in the third row, and you could see in their faces that they knew their mics were off but they sat their belting it out, and if you were close enough you could hear ginger laughing at the fact that it was all fucked up. I heard them and the band, and we also got to here the pissed off techies screaming and swearing that the confetti blew out the mics.

How could they NOT notice? Honestly. The music was loud. They aren't deaf. They knew. Goodness. They showed great showmanship in continuing on like nothing was wrong. THAT is what makes a good performer.

I love how everyone keeps saying "they didn't even notice the playback going off".....what did u expect them to do??....stop the performance and go "sorry, our mics have stopped working...give us 5 minutes to sort out the problem."....silly people....every professional performer knows that no matter what happens on stage, you must always carry on regardless. I think they handled it really well and it could have quite easily been part of the show.

Bands with Boys or Girls (ie Backstreet and Spice) in their name whose members are pushing 40 should not be allowed to exist. This is what happens we people pay good money to see glorified karoake acts and two-bit Vegas stage shows instead real musicians who actually sing their own songs LIVE.

OH P.S... no when a mic blows you're not going to hear a singular person singing in an audience that is screaming that loud. So no they weren't lip synching, right when everyone shut up i heard them singing.

Actually they were performing live.
I was in the third row, and you could see in their faces that they knew their mics were off but they sat their belting it out, and if you were close enough you could hear ginger laughing at the fact that it was all fucked up. I heard them and the band, and we also got to here the pissed off techies screaming and swearing that the confetti blew out the mics.
But they were still singing, and the right shit too.

The sound went out...I don't give a damn about the spice girls...but this says nothing about them lip sync'n ....it's just the amps that went out...they're prob still hearing themselves in their earpeices....not lyp sync'n (although again....I wouldn't care either way)

It´s "Llhorando se fue" by Keoma. There´s a famous cover of this song in Brazil called "Chorando se foi", Ivete Sangalo, a brazilian singer, sings this song in her show. Another interesting thing, when Mel C dances this mix, the Brazil´s flag appears on screen! :D

Ahhh poor girls but I bet they didn't really know what was happening. Probably their ear plugs were playing the track and they continued singing...and even if they knew what was happening, they continued. That's what makes them the best.

im pretty sure they knew the sound went out, but the show must go on right! i dont think they were lip syncing (after reading what the person below me said) but even if they were at least they had the guts to go back on stage after how many years, they are all parents now, im sure they are somewhat embarassed to do this. no matter what they are always awsome though!!!

No problem! Trust me if they were lipsynching i would be on here making fun of them too. But they werent. I was right near the soundsystem and you could see the guys scrambling to fix the mics.
