It is a totally legitimate stance by the EXECUTIVE to hold the CONGRESS/LEGISLATIVE BRANCH's feet to the fire.... It is the Congress's responsibility to come up with a budget, control the purse string, as stipulated by the Constitution! Obama putting forward a "written" plan would just restrict the room for negotiation.... I don't agree with Obamam on most things, but I do like that fact that he is letting the Congress dig its own grave. Congress get your act together. Produce workable solution!

It's not the president's job to foot a bill that will pass the House and the Senate because he is not a part of either of them. The constitution states that it is the primary responsibility of congress. He is entitled to input however, just like any other citizen...

Wow that...was one of the most civil reactions I've seen on youtube in months. I gotta sit down.
Communism refers to a form of government first defined in the writing of Karl Marx. It refers to the abolition of ALL private property. All land, resources, means of production and distribution are owned by the government, to be equally shared among all people. Hence, "communal ownership". And everyone works for the common good instead of a paycheck.

As you can probably infer, that is far removed from anything Obama is proposing. Such as a 3% federal income tax increase on the top income bracket, to 39%. Apparently that's communism, when that same tax rate was 50% under Reagan, 70% under Nixon, and a whopping 90% under Eisenhower. Yet Obama is the communist. The rhetoric today is killing me
But thank you for writing a reasonable post, it was cathartic

@11111110 Thanks for the reaction :-) and for the definition. I spent a fair amount of money at Non-Violent Communication workshops learning to take a breath and say what was really true and ask for what I really want. That said, I do swear a fair amount, and have been known to get on a quite high horse and gallop into a wall. So, thanks again, and remember me next time someone asserts that all conservatives and/or Republicans are ignorant, intolerant, abusive, uncivil louts and loutettes.

THEY ARE FAILING TO DO THEIR JOBS, yet there is little pushback from the apathetic masses. Americans would rather be entertained than informed. Sheep get sheared. THEN the jackass BLAMES the press for "cutting out early" as if to say he DID give the plan but they were just absent. This is so good, I am surprised the liberal Jon Stewart isn't all over this. If this was Bush's secretary, he'd (Stewart) would be doing his clips, then cut back to him paused w/ a smirk on his face as if to portray the secretary as "dumb" I hope Stewart shows how convoluted this Administration is.
