I was at the house in oct 2009,and i hope i can be there 4 of june 2010,that would be so much fun,but its an long as jurny from norway.Remember when it came out,i dint know what kind of magic i a had rented,well ifirst blood part 2 did also come that year,and i had a really good movie night to look forward to. i was like 12 then. I just got back from washington and made the drive down to Astoria for the day. all i can say is WOW!!! I'm 32 and watched goonies countless times as a kid, and you just can't put it into words as going to the places where they filmed your favorite movie. YOU MUST make the trip to Ecola State Park! They filmed the haystack rock and lighthouse lounge there! Its is by far the most amazing place I've ever seen!!!!

that's it, i have to go. i have seen The Goonies at least almost a thousand times. I started by watching it with my 11 year old cousin. I was sure it was going to be just another kids movie, hence the title, The Goonies, but after the first scene, I realized that this was going to be a perfect movie. It is, and always will be, EVEN if the long awaited sequel breaks out, my favorite (I may be wrong, as a sequel with the original cast could lighten me up.).

How many of the goonies have shown up to this event in the past. I have seen videos of Chunk and Mikey but I was wondering if any of the others have dropped by?

Curtis Hanson who played "Mr Perkins" - Troy's father - also came to the event for the duration of the weekend. We also had a gentleman who worked under Steven Spielberg and Richard Donner's direction in 84-85 come and give a talk about his experiences of working with them at the start of his career, aswell as locals who shared their recollections of the filming etc. The Astoria Chamber of Commerce are hard at work at getting more goonies cast to the next event. Hope you can make it.
