i have "Script" and "Strange Days". im listening to selections from "What Does Anything...?" i must say "script" is my favorite by the Chameleons. "what does anything...", second place. "strange days" is quite good, but just lacks what matadorelov said: "making such amazing atmospheric dramatic loneliness inducing sounds and lyrics", hence it being my least liked Chameleons CD. just thought you all should know. so sad how overlooked they were - how many hearts could they have touched?
been listening since 1984 or so...timeless, melancholic and inspiring throughout my varoius life chapters...all songs have that unique quality that connects to my thoughts....great band,,,
so many great memories when i listen to this band and this song....hot summer days and warm nights with friends....dropped quite a bit of acid to this that summer too..lol....nostalgia....talking..driving...laughing...great friends and times so long ago
simplemnte ke cancion noes buena de ellos ????? es la mejor banda post punk de todo el tiempo y hasta la mejor de la historia Indie simplemente una de culto de no odiar la apologia comercial se komerian vivos a kualkier banducha komo los cure, u2, et
Man I am right with you balihar5 The Chameleons are just unreal. Past or present there will never be a band quite like them. The most unbelievable part is that Mark is so personable you can even write him an email and he will respond back thanking you and telling you are the kinda person that made it possible. It is us who have the incredible taste never forget that. Rock on!

one of the most underrated bands of the 80,s , my eldest brother got me into them , and 15 years later they still have me singing along to them flat out in the car !!!! top band should of made it big !!!!
After all these years, there is still no more a perfect band than this. Words can't ever express how much I stil love the Chameleons like I did 25 years ago.
I remember being 16 and listening to this song over and over again on an LP that I borrowed from my friend. At that age and at that time, this song seemed almost revolutionary in its dreamy depiction of "relationships" and "sex." In fact, I think it is still revolutionary and no less interesting some twenty-something years later. Great song. Great band.
it was 1985 and every morning before leaving for school i would leave a blank tape running, recording a chicago college station to see what i could "catch", and then listen when i got home. one day i caught this song and they instantly became one of my all time favorite bands.
Anyone able to post lyrics of the live in berlin version, which are quite different from the album version? Thanks in advance. (Googled it, but with no luck)
seriously this song is awesome. i cannot believe this band has managed to have been ignored during its heyday. its quite simply some of the most magical music you will ever hear. this song is just magnificent, a true masterpiece. People can have their crappy bands of today, but noone can replicate The Chameleons, or even the Comsat Angels for that matter.
I drove for hours in the early morning rain a few days ago just listening to this... Found myself in a vacant rest stop, alone at a picnic table hours later smoking a few cigarettes, watching the storm clouds passing me by, pondering the state of my life... if any...
One of my favorites along with The Fan and The Bellows and Nostalgia. The live version from 1983 at The Loft is also fantastic. Thank you for uploading.
the chameleons, aah the chameleons cant say more. wonderfully constructed song,

There have been many great bands in the history of music. But there has been only one that makes me want to laugh and cry at the same time.

Sounds like the Chameleons find the noises made by singing tubes to be as enchanting as I do.

One of the greatest feminist anthems of all time, although I think the message is lost on a lot of people.

Well, come to the Chameleons
All are
Welcome to these artifacts of their
existent shell of being.
Is it nothing?
perhaps.
But it is a nothing that means something
to me.
