  • It's funny how BEP actually tried to plagiarize such a high profile artist (that's arguable of course, but Adam Freeland is quite prominent in the techno genre). It's funnier that they thought they could get away with it by releasing it on this "top album".

  • :O Bastards....

  • in my opinion the black eyed peas had every right to take this song and not give Freeland credit. they took such a small part of the song. they added a beat and words its not like they duplicated the song and called it theirs. if you public something you should expect that it would be manipulated by others. this is america for god sake. they took two chords wow big deal.

  • People that accuse BEP of plagiarism don't know how to produce music apparently.

This is a synth pad. You play one note, then you play one octave higher, you loop that, and there you go. Freeland used it, BEP used it, and anyone can use it.

Plagiarism is when you copy a progression, not two notes.

When was the last time a band accused you of plagiarizing because you played a E and a D in your song and they played an E and a D too ?

I don't even like BEP... but that's the truth.

  • @vascopatriciocoach There are plenty more variables to work with. You also have the rhythm, the instruments, and timing. This was pure plagiarism and should therefore be treated as such. Will.I.Am has stolen other work also if you just google "Will.I.Am Boyz Noize" then you'll see more of his plagiarism.

  • @vascopatriciocoach ok come on. This is the SAME synth sound. Exactly. And yes, that's a chord progression. It's not because it's slow and simple that it isn't. This is the same sound, the same tempo, the same chords, the same timing.

  • No Bep Write in the album and wiki that Party All The Time contains elements..The sample is official..!

  • black eyed peas is better. 4ever. i dont care.

  • @hiphump6 Yeah, stealing other peoples work is the SHIT!

  • @58lions stealing is wrong, but i mean bep's better.

  • This is one of the greatest tunes ever. Totally thumbs up on the song and video.

  • considering that the Supreme Court ruled that using a chord from a song isn't considered plagiarism, I don't see what the problem is here. Using a base tone and repeating it throughout a song while adding overtones and lyrics would be protected under fair use because they are changing the song to a substantial degree.

  • @hotdragon03 they stole the entire chord progression and cut out the drum + electric guitar part

guess they can afford good lawyers by stealing and being complete untalented.

  • @hotdragon03 Really?! They changed it...?! Where?!

  • @hotdragon03 That's not protected under fair use at all. Have you even read up on copyright laws?

  • @hotdragon03 Using the chord progression is FINE with accreditation, but they didn't accredit him and they just ripped the audio from the other track. From what I can tell no other changes to the sample where made except turning it down.

  • Il existe 7 notes et 5 altérations, avec un son electro, reproduire les 4 mêmes dans le même ordre me parait pas trop volontaire non plus... enfin après, que ce soit le même son et tout c louche mais vla ^^

  • That's really embarrassing, considering how stupidly easy it would be to replicate that musical passage.

  • worst mash up i hgave ever heard!!! piss poor attempt

  • @duhkulavision I really hope you were being sarcastic....? Otherwise you're just incredibly thick. Its not meant to be a mash up.

  • Jesus Christ Black Eyed Peas, make your own shit for a change

  • is it me? or is pop music getting shitter and shitter???

    HOUSE MUSIC FTW

  • plagio por un riff? ahah k pendejos

  • The sample is shit anyway...

  • PARTY ALL THE TIME ITS SOOOO MUCH BETTER

  • @videlos nigger

  • @DharokDude puta bastarda malparida por el culo pendeja

  • If you don't pay for music and you download it for free you should shut the fuck up and stop bitching about what the goddamn black eyed peas did... Who really gives a fuck we all steal from musicians everyday they just do it more openly stop pretending to care.

  • @dm2000ny We don't P-R-E-T-E-N-D we care you idiot. Black Eyed Peas are a joke. They can't come up with their OWN beats. They should'nt be called artists.

  • @Mariiexful do they at least come up with their own lyrics? Could they be artists based off of that then?

  • @experiment0003

    well they're not that good...

  • @3rddecade good at what? they can't be bad at everything... unless you're being completely unrealistic!

  • @experiment0003

the lyrics aren't good either. If you look closer you realize that they can't sing (autotune, look at the live shows), they don't use their own beats, their lyrics suck aswell.

I guess they know how to advertise themselves.

  • @3rddecade I think that the fact that you think their lyrics suck is subjective... I bet you there are a million people out there who would disagree with you.

  • The black eyed peas are just a buch of talentless niggers, just like the other bunch of talentless niggers that rap out there.

  • @Cpillin425 well your listening to the wrong artist then

  • @chrispydogs you are absolutely right, I don't listen to those niggers ever.

  • @Cpillin425 If your gonna listen to good music it lives underground not mainstream I prefer hip hop myself like Mos Def, Immortal technique, Louis Logic etc

  • @chrispydogs ahh well if that's what you like, then whose going to change your opinion right?

  • @Cpillin425 This is true but I am wide open to all genre of music. I like hip hop but I love anything really like classical Mozart to Ray Charles or Frank Zappa doesn't matter just like to song then i like the song and I don't discriminate it like most seem to do

  • I love the black eyed peas, but they were sooo wrong and they didnt even try to hide that they stole the song, total shame on the now( burnt) black eyed peas......

  • Mancry is so much better than the Black eyed peas who are thiefs

  • people saying this doesnt bother them because it "is pretty common" are being incredibly ignorant. Sampling without crediting or paying up royalties is called STEALING.

even when they do it legitamately, it is rarely to pay homage. It is to make money; you make your song successful because the song you sampled was successful.

at any rate it is a sad, lazy practice and a testament to the lack of creativity and talent in some of today's "musicians".

My apologies for being so bitter.

  • @ianisnotagirl

That's not bitter, that's just not being a weak faggot about. Most people who listen to crappy generic music like B.E.P are 'fans' and don't want to think otherwise. They were good.... then they got crap and unbearable. If telling the truth to fans is being bitter then.... *Brain fart* Dunno how to finish that sentence but you get me XD

  • @ianisnotagirl ur comment is one of the 2 top comments just so u kno

  • I think that we need to remember that all of these other artist that "plagiarize", e.g. Flo Rida, got permission and bought the rights to do so, which is completely legal. The Black Eyed Peas didn't pay any royalties or even inform Freeland about sampling their song so it's full-fledged plagiarism.

  • @AlpacaNinja Music isn't just about "combinations of notes and chords" or which band that sucks the most balls...

  • @originalsecrethugger Doesn't make Flo Rida better or more original.

  • @originalsecrethugger ur comment is the top comment

  • knew of party all the time way before i heard about this... the bitten part is just the background. i barely even noticed it before... i think it's okay since this is pretty common nowadays

  • It's funny how people go crazy over this when people like Flo-Rida just took an entire song change the lyrics a little bit and then it became a huge hit. Most people had no problems with that........

  • Yeah, the peas do this in a lot of their songs (use other songs). I don't see the big deal.

  • black eyed peas suck balls

  • identical. Marineparade is unparelled.

  • honestly i don't think they plagiarized. Its 3 simple notes in the same order. And even if they did, most artists do. For example that imogen heap crap.

  • @The1nX They did plagiarize. There was an undisclosed sum paid outside of court on the matter. Do your research.

  • sampling is my career, been a "sample artist" for about 5 years now, this is just sampled. not recreated. just straight up taken from one song and put in to their song.. no biggie, but F the peas anyhow... sampling doesnt get any lazier than this.. giving sampling a bad name..

  • Sampling already has a bad name. Try being creative, and writing your own garbage.

  • sampling is a way to pay homage to the original artist or to put a new spin on an old song... something I guess you don't get....

  • @TyWalkerMusic

Are you fucking stupid? If it was to pay homage, then the wouldn't be cashing in on it. Maybe you should be talked to like a two year old, "TyWalker". If..You...Make..Money..From..Another..Persons..Achievement...It...Is...Called...Exploitation.

Like holy fuck. You don't get anything if this isn't comprehendible to you.

  • @suppie100

I don't get anything because of your typos, you moron. It can still be a homage. An artist doesn't make any extra money by using a sample. The artist that is being sampled collects the royalties.

Maybe you should stop trying to put people down like you know what you're talking about and try getting the facts.

Ok. maybe next time you'll learn.

-God Bless and Have a Nice Life...

  • You couldn't make sense of that paragraph because of one typo? If you feel sampling is used as a tribute to artists than this conversation is completely redundant. It's completely based around money and even though in most cases the original artist gets paid royalties, it's obvious it doesn't happen as much as it should. Case #1, this fucking song you idiot. Look at Timbaland, or even Jay-Z. They sample, with little to no credit noted whatsoever. Is that what creating homage is to you?

  • @suppie100

yeah some people only do it cuz the samples "sound cool." I never said every artist that samples is trying to pay homage. but alot do it for that reason. I been exposed to alot of things like this in the music area so I understand the people with good intentions,

  • @TyWalkerMusic

    Yeah like money!

  • it does sound similar its da same notes

he or she played on da gitar

  • black eyed peas are horrible it makes me a little sick knowing they are known as artists with a number one album what happened to music.. wheres all the talent.. how can you produce this shit and say' "this is me expressed through music" i think half the time people like this stuff because your forced to think its cool and you will be in with the crowd.. where has the music heart gone. money + a mirror does not make good music ..

  • wow thats like EXACTLY the same

  • i dunno but they sound preety damn close

  • it sounds SO MUCH better at the song from the Black Eyed Peas,

rofl the beat is dope but not at that ugly Mancry song???!

  • Doesn't justify stealing another artist's music, ya know. They're just the hiphop version of Britney Spears, they don't write their own stuff, they have experts making it sound awesome, and they use computers to condition the end result. Oh and they have the boobs too.

  • oh shut up people. artist do this all the time. take "Whatcha say" for example they stole most of that song from imogen heps song "hide and seek". and many more hit songs. get over yourselves.

  • @webweb321

no he did not... she let him use that.

    get your facts straight

  • I highly doubt that, imogen heap has far tooo much integrity in her music to be at all associated with that crap!

i think it may just fell into the under 9 bars rule! unless u can link me the actual quote where its stated she allowed it!

  • actually it isn't very similar. Imogen Heap gave that guy the okay to use the sample from 'Hide and Seek'. Whoever produced this song for the Black Eyed Peas, which I don't think Guetta produced this track, just straight up lifted Mancry.

  • @webweb321 Yeah I agree............try getting your facts right next time you dumb bastard!!!!! YES I'M TALKING TO YOU!!!!!

  • I hope Freeland wins this. That is plagiarism.

  • it's the exact same sample...that's actually illegal.

  • they didn´t even bother to "hide" anything

  • The melody is definitely the same!!!! It's even on the SAME KEY!!! O_O

  • personally the BEPs sound better but yeah it does sound similar...maybe they got permission??

  • @mrmonopoly15

    Stolen music always sounds better

  • @kevin8se7en ahahaha :)

  • I love the art of sampling, in hip hop and house music, but I love it when its done so its not strait away recognisable or a simple copy and paste.

although there have been some amazing songs from a simple copy and paste, but there done so well it makes a new song completely. Some of the samples from this album are a bit naff and obvious, they sound too familiar, there not as original as I would have expected

  • jajajajajajajajajajajajajajaja. incledible!!!

  • I've got a feeling is a copy/paste of david guetta's love is gone..

  • I've had impression too when i heard the music for the first time, but when i research about their about, david guetta appears as one of the composers, so that's why it sounds the same, if it is true...and if that's the case, probably it's same with this track...

  • Hip hop has always been about sampling. Until the 90's it wasn't necessary to get permission to use samples. They should open up sampling once more in the name of creativity. Without sampling there wouldn't have been Paul's Boutique by the Beastie Boys, which contains 105 samples. To me that was the pinnacle of hip hop from a production standpoint. Hip hop wouldn't exist if it weren't for samples. More importantly it wouldn't exist without very talented musicians to sample from.

  • these days most artists are just lazy and don't innovate the song at all.

  • plaaaaagio!

    Fadasso

  • ya i like black eyed peas old songs like 4 years ago....now all their songs are shit....example: boom boom pow, if u meet me halfway, etc... now i just hate the black eyed peas they have no talent

  • "I keep it dirty, ain't like Fergie, **** the Black Eyed Peas!"

    --Amanda Blank

  • The Peas are repeat plagiarizers. They couldn't come up with a song containing 100% of their own content if their lives depended on it.

  • then how do you exsplain boom boom pow i got a feeling and all of there other songs

  • @superbenA02 There's a difference between sampling and plagiarism

  • Black Eyed Peas its a SHIT !!

  • they just settled out of court for an undisclosed amount...

  • pretty sure BEP either samples or steals the beat from someone else on most of their songs

  • its called sampling

  • yeah but when you use a sample either you pay an amount of money or you quote the original song.

  • @XxDaT4KiDxX It is a sample of "Mancry", but Black Eyed Peas didn't have the permission to sample Adam Freeland's song in "Party all the time" so this is a real plagiarism!!!

  • ohh okay.

  • Low....very low.

But let's all move on!!!! Fid another song to discuss about and leave the Black Eyed Peas alone for awhile :)

  • Now the sample is cleared. ;-)

  • Very low from Black Eyed Peas, everyone's always known that hip-hop culture revolves around sampling but this track is literally just adding a vocal to Freeland's and putting a 4/4 kick drum into it.

If the money from Bittersweet Symphony goes to the Rolling Stones and not Richard Ashcroft, Adam should get every penny Black Eyed Peas make from this song..

  • Aww I really liked that Black Eyed Peas song one of my favourite sbesides, Meet Me Halfway & Missing You. Still it's a shame they had to rip someone off...

  • ok... its not the fact that notes are the same, cause im sure its a popular progression. the fact that they ripped off the notes and the timbre of the synth is the problem, it is the exact same sample. i cant believe this is the same group who released joints an jams.

  • Mathematically speaking, plagiarism is actually quite frequent for something that is simple, making it more likely for it occur accidentally. On the other hand, if it is frequent for something that is complex, then it's more likely to be intentional than accidental.

  • For example, If I asked everyone in the world to think of or make up a two letter word, and was given a dollar for everyone time the word "at" was used, I'd have at least 8.8 million US dollars. Using the same thing except with a six-letter word instead, I would then have just 19 US dollars.

$ = 6 billion people / number of possible words

    number of possible two-letter words = (26 letters)^2 = 676

    number of possible words for a six-letter word = (26 letters)^6 = 308915776

  • I don't get it! =( Help!!!!

  • Comment removed

  • You know its just a bunch of whole notes, right? It wouldn't be very hard to find something as simple as this, and compare it to a mainstream song. If it was something as complicated as Mozart, Beethoven, Chopin, or Wager, then we would have a problem.

  • O well Black Eyed Peas is better.. it's not like they actully stole the whole beat it couid just be a coincidence, cus it's not like the beat was that unique sounding.

  • wow this is not a coincidence. my ears never fool me, comparing the 2 songs they matches perfectly...go fight for your rights adam

  • i hate song jackers. this is just so fucking low. hope they get what's coming to them. bitches.

  • seu estupido

  • ajworld, seriouisly they neva asked to use his song his was around for much longer... they stole the song full top without asking

  • This sounds exactly alike. Get a pencil and a piece of paper and draw lines going up and down (like mountains) depending on the note of the song. Then watch when you do it again for BEP's. It matches exactly.

  • me scary the freeland song xDDD

  • Yea sorry, have heard all their music, it's my job to keep up with all music to be as versatile as i can retard, not talking out of my ass like most of you, i make sure i know the background

  • You stupid little white boys needa chill the fuck out. Black Eyed Peas make good music. No one said Freeland's music was shit. Half of the damn population in this world likes at least one song of black eyed peas. Freeland made a sick beat and Black eyed peas used it as a stolen sample. So shut the fuck up. No one cares about your stupid ass remarks. So stop complaining about and insulting black eyed peas if you haven't heard all their music.

  • Stopped reading at "Black Eyed Peas make good music.". FAIL

  • Nice name you dumb homo.

I personally don't like their new album. But the old underground shit they did was good. You obviously don't know them because you don't like their music.

FAIL at attempting to make an insult.

  • Lol, insulting my name. The first excuse of someone who has no argument. I wouldn't criticise them if I hadn't listened to them.

  • and this wouldn't be the first time they've done it... only untalented people can't write their own music and jack someone else's and not give them credit

  • and for the comment about " at least black eyed peas are singing" ... please... yea clearly he's not a singer, but what does that have do with producing talent? don't have to sing to be talented or produce, and you call what B.E.P. singing? ITS COMPLETE UTTER TRASH!!!

  • and of you B.E.P. fans commenting against Freeland and saying he's jealous or pissed because they are more famous than he... you really got another thing coming. If someone just jacked your music and didn't give u credit and claim it as your own, wouldn't you be pissed too? and B.E.P. got nothing on Freeland's producing, no hip hop/pop producer can even come close to what electronic producers can pull out

  • yeah I saw him live at igloofest, he blew my fucking mind. even knaye gets electro artists to produce for him and thats what sells his albums cause it's much more complex than a regular beat and they usually can sell themselves, like adam freeland sold his records before anybody soiled it with shit, poppy singing.

  • B.E.P. new album is nothing but the big pis of SHIT!!!

  • no i will not hes a jeolous fuck thts wat he is

  • Fuck U FreeLand suck a dick ur mad Cause Balck eyed pea are more famous and can own u B.E.P For life! Its un clears reeland dont say shit atleast black eyed peas are singing.

  • dude you need to start listenin to some real, good music and not those shitty shameless pop acts

  • Before you start insulting someone you should figure out how to spell.

  • get over it

  • Will I Am has sampled a lot of recent Electronic Dance Music lately.

"I've got a feeling" has a samples from David Guetta and "American Boy" which he produced sampled from Boys Noize's "&Down"

he's just goin on the bandwagon of the popularity of that analogue sound.

he probably drops E instead of smoking weed now.

  • Actually, "I Gotta Feeling", samples off David Guetta's "Love Is Gone", but at least that sample has merit, seeing as Guetta served as executive producer to the album. He also co-wrote the song. As for many of these other uncredited songs...it is quite a shame.

  • It's not a sample, It's David Guetta himself created "I gotta feeling'

  • but I gotta feeling was made with David Guetta

  • "I've got a feeling" is made by David Guetta ;)

  • i love the black eyed peas :) boohoo a shitty little few records selling dj got his feelings hurt and they fucjed up his 10s of fans but really no one gives a fuck! :)

go B.E.P...first perez hilton now adam whats his face. well more people will hear about them now! :D

  • I would say it's a bit ignorant to call freeland "a shitty little few records selling dj "

  • Haha, it's the same sample.

  • people keep going back and forth but the fact is

they took something that was not their which makes it wrong.

  • Well... I see the similarity... but it's not more than few seconds...

  • i'm with silverpopps "wow another mainstream shity band plagiarizing what a surprise" also "i got a feeling" is the laziest songwriting i've ever heard, it the sort of shit you make up on the spot to sing to babies.

  • blatant rip off...

  • i don't think it's a rip off. For all we know there was a verbal agreement to do so. On rare occasions something dancable DOES come of it. Why are some acting like a sample clearance officer? omg some of these comments are simply, perhaps a bit negatively hilarious!

  • what we do know is that freeland's twitter started this whole deal when he made a post about BEP and his song. so there was no verbal agreement, BEP straight up used his song without permission. not only is it illegal but it shows poor manners on BEPs part

  • Pathetic. I don't think BEP realise that you can't just come over to Dance music and start ripping off peoples music like they do in Hip Hop. We're a different breed!

  • wow another mainstream shity band plagiarizing what a suprize

  • In this particular case, they just took the song, and put lyrics on it. They took the EXACT same music, bit for bit. It's the actual Freeland recording, cut, sequenced and looped differently, but the sound is taken directly from the recording.

That is unacceptable, unless you have the rights to do so, which they didn't. Therefore it's plagiarism.

Saying that it is morally or ethically right or wrong is irrelevant,

  • ...Friggin hoes. -_-

  • its a blatant rip off, they need sample clearance for this. It's the same notes, same key, exact same synth patch, even the tempo is close. But since they are black eye peas they might get away with ripping him off. anyone who has no idea how the music industry works just shut the fuck up because your comments have no weight.

  • NO they won't it is rip off and plagiams. I don't care if they are even the president... Fuck em :) =). The chord progression is the same also.

  • oh wow ur my fuckin hero

    its the same song doucher

  • Seriously, it's four notes.

Anyone can come up with four notes...

  • It's actually repeated so it is 8 notes which is enough for plagiasm.

  • You are wrong they are repeated so it is 8 notes plagiasm!

  • you don't know about adam freeland or electronic music do you??

    knob jockey

  • You disgust me.

Adam Freeland = amazing producer, DJ and musician.

BEP = soulless consumer 'product', the exact kind of musical abomination that Freeland despises.

Go back to your sheltered 'HOT HITZ' existence and NEVER EVER make remarks about talent you can't even begin to comprehend.

  • Is it a rule that if you like the Black Eyed Peas you shouldn't be able to spell? Their audience seems to be a collection of ignorant bastards and proud ignorants.

  • word!

  • a rip-off... omg nothing special: just look at daft punk, papa roach or other artists.

  • Comment removed

  • Uhm no, they are getting sued for it, don't you listen or read anything?

  • Dumbass you are wrong. Why are they accused then?

  • FUCK OFF U CLOWN its not just 4 notes its the whole basic song black eye peas stole it and anyway didnt you all know fegries a man

  • that is such a blatant rip-off!! you think theyd try cover it up a bit, ridiculous
