This is a very beautiful and anointing song of which I first heard when I was in a play at New Covenant church in 1985. This song would come on right before my performance. I didn't know who it was by then but I did find out ! Each & every time that I heard this song then & yes even now, I feel such a blessing come over me & I can feel the presence of our Lord with me...I went to the rock and purchased Keith Greens music cassette tape & I then wrote to him & got a letter back from his wife...
"This world is much more than the things that surround you."
Keith's music has always been such an inspiration for me. That line and this song has consistently reminded me to to do my best to be less selfish and give of myself to those who are in need, as people have done for me my entire life. I'll never be perfect, but I wouldn't trade a challenge so rewarding for the world.
@ChipOffTheOldBlock99 Jesus Christ commands us to be perfect. Those saved by the blood of the Lord Jesus Christ ought to have faith that one day they can and will be perfect. We need to always come before God asking for his grace because we are in need of it so much. We need to ask him to use us to do his will. I am not perfect, but I know that the Lord wants to chasten me and teach me how to be more conformed to his perfect will and become closer to his perfect will as I mature in him.
bballman..you don't understand the heart or message of Keith or his ministry. You dishonor the Lord and Keith in your attempt to "teach" others here. Your comments are inappropriate. While the rest you are talking about is important you should take the message Keith was trying to get out to heart and impact your world for Christ and HIS glory.

Unfortunately Keith was strongly influenced by heretical theology such as that espoused by Charles Finney. That may partly account for the "striving" instead if the "resting" he experienced earlier in his walk with Christ. From what I can gather he was beginning to realize it is all by the grace of God in Christ before the Lord took Keith home to heaven.
Thank you Keith, I am so looking forward to seeing you in heaven!
@bballman what heretical theology are you referring to? And remember, heresy is not just incorrect belief about God, but belief so incorrect that it means you're actually worshipping an entirely different God, and therefore are not really a Christian.
@bballman We all go through times where we "strive." It takes a lot of faith just to "rest "in God or we come to a point where we have no other point but to throw ourselves at the cross of Christ with no strength left to do anything. The closer we are with Christ ( and the closer we are trying to be) the more the devil tries to stop us and the temptation to strive is part of what the devil throws at us.
@bballman added note to first reply. Heavenly rest is rare and short in a Christians life yet there is always a undeniable, un-understandable, peace that we always have as Christians no matter how much we sin. However, that peace intensifies the closer we are with Christ.
Keith Green was an amazing artist. His music is among the best ever written and he had a passion for the glory of God that really shone through all he did.
This by far my favorite Keith Green song, along with the Prelude that goes before this on the studio cut. Keith was not only great at writing lyrics, his playing was absolutely fabulous. Good christian artist, or just artist period are hard to find these days. With Keith, what you heard is what you got, no fluff.
I was there at this concert in Santa Rosa.Keith took out a crumbled up piece of paper, and sang one of the songs he just wrote while flying out to Jesus West Coast. Also the I would get the Last days News Letter. Now its' the last days magazine.I was thinking about life and death, and things in my life God was dealing with me about the day before Keith died in the crash..
PRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIISSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE GOD! Who has taken us from death unto life. LORD WE LOVE YOU AND WORSHIP YOU WITH AND THROUGH YOU're HOLY SPIRIT!!!!!!! I WILL SPEND EVERY SECOND IN INTIMACY WITH YOU. TO GIVE YOU PRAISE FOR EVERYTHING! =)=)=)=)=)
@nievedeverano Since I accepted Christ at age 12 and first heard of Keith Green I knew that this truly was a phrophet sent by God. I find myself at age 46 still singing this song in the shower. Praise God on High!!!!
God needs good musicians in heaven

I respectively disagree.
You are quick to say I dishonor Christ by by me stating a simple fact.
I believe I do understand Keith and his ministry.
Read the rest of what i said concerning Keith, you may find upon reflection you are being quite judgmental because I state something you don't like.
By the way, I named my son after Keith Green's son, Josiah, who is preparing to enter full time ministry soon.

You are confusing heresy and apostasy. One can hold a heretical belief and still be a Christian while an apostate never was a Christian.
