Who would dislike this? Only someone who came here specifically to dislike it. Otherwise, everyone here is enjoying the pure brilliant piloting skills on show!
If you like this, you should have a look at Australia's RAAF Roulette's display team. Inspired by the RAF Red Arrows, the Roulette's do similar formation flying except with a smaller team and turbo prop aircraft, making for a slower, but much tighter performance.
That's what it's all about really; nine pilots at the top of their game telling gravity to get stuffed and the laws of physics to come back tomorrow. Good show!
@ashbytimuk ya that was a cool break but the blue angels could do that if they tried im sure of it.. they just dont do it because it would copy the red arrows.
And this is why I dont go to airshows anymore, after watching the harrier go down at Lowestoft and seeing how close these get to each other, id rather not spend a whole day worrying about planes crashing XD
They are British, and they are the best in the World. RIP Flt Lt Jon "The Eggman" Egging, Red 4. I saw him perform this year, and he was brilliant, as were the rest of the team, as always. Red 4, We will never forget you.
I travelled down to Eastbourne to see their displays a couple of days before the crash which happens to be where I go to university. There is a red arrows Documentary here on Youtube for anyone interested in what these pilots go through!
Some people are saying that they are English but they are in fact British. They are based in Scampton in England but are in the Royal Air Force. The Royal Air Force represent Great Britain. They also make the british flag
@maxthecat14 Now THAT would be awesome, no Concorde though :( Oh we'll just have to get another 9 red arrows to make a pretend Concorde! (Something about delta wings I just love)
I love this! I live in Lincoln which is a city VERY close too scamp ton where they are based...and I see them practice, take off and land every day! I saw them to day just too prove it!....oh and ummm, just too tell of of you...my dad is red 1.
@samjenks1234 i just check on the red arrows site and looked up the red arrows, red 1 is called Ben Murphy. are you sure red 1 ya dad ( different second name n all)
Hi, people, I just wanted too say that when people say that they are British Not English, it's true from the fact that the pilots aren't just English....but they do live in England, Scampton too be exact. Oh and just too mention the fact that my dads Red 1!...
The english are known for their fierce navy and air force, their navy once helped to create their empire and their air force once saved england from German invasion.
Glad to see their display team are keeping up the tradition. Better display then warring I say.
I saw them yesterday but still I can't wait to see them in Blackpool and Bournemouth this summer! They are the best in aviation! Better than Top Gun, the best of the best!
@S24njp I bet you wish you hadn't seen Bournemouth now. I love the Reds, but that was surely the biggest Reds disaster since the 70's? RIP Flt Lt Jon "The Eggman" Egging (Red 4). I hope he gets decorated in the next honours list.
ANYONE SAYING THAT THE USAF THUNDERBIRDS ARE BETTER ARE DELUSIONAL......they use fly-by-wire systems.....the Red Arrows fly completely analogue with just pure, precise skill!
@ashbytimuk I hate to break the English bubble but these are Nothing but British, I agree with you. In fact I seen a couple of Scots in the Red Arrows fleet interview. The logistics of getting these aircraft around the world is made up of British people, not just English. Have some respect people.
@1dalmation1 i wish you the best of luck. having known several members it is a non-stop job. but if you have the dete3rmination and focus you'll get there.
@samjenks1234 The pilots are all from the Royal Air Force which is a British military force with personnel who come from all over the United Kingdom (as well as some Commonwealth countries). The R.A.F. has bases in all four parts of the U.K. - England, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales. On that basis I would say that they are British not simply English.
@ashbytimuk I hate to break the English bubble but these are Nothing but British, I agree with you. In fact I seen a couple of Scots in the Red Arrows fleet interview. The logistics of getting these aircraft around the world is made up of British people, not just English. Have some respect people.
So, are we allowed the Red Arrows to perform at London 2012? Or, is a British acrobatic retired RAF display team still classed as racist? Before anyone comments, I too said W.T.F when I heard this.
I live a few miles from where they're based and often see them flying about practicing. Also i will often see all sorts of low flying Second World War aircraft flying about - there was a Spitfire doing aerobatics over my house last week, only a few hundred feet off the ground! :D
They are based in RAF Scampton and my grandparents live in the nearest village, Welton. Every summer my brother and I would be playing in the back garden while the Red Arrows were flying over head getting some practice in!
oh and i wouldnt change america as an ally for the world i like their people, citys, cultures, tv shows, games, movies and armed forces. i'd love to see where britain would be without allys like the states. were lucky to have them as a friend as they are lucky to have us. rant over
@EJLSWE its not the English that make up the Red Arrows, there have been Pilots from Wales, Scotland, Northern Ireland (British) and other countries that have made this Great Display Team.
I sometimes do hate the way everyone refers to them a English.
Absolutely brilliant, the worlds best. The RAF team certainly know how to put on a show, and they'll be flying over my house a few times this afternoon for the 2011 Southend On Sea Air Festival. Display Pilots Red 1 - 9 Thank you :-)

I'm British and love the Red Arrows, I've seen them many times, but I still enjoy the Thunderbirds and Blue Angels.....sadly I have not been able to see them live.
But I do not get why people "my country is better than yours" etc, at the end of the day all three display teams are at the top of their game and are the best in their respective county/forces.
May I compliment you on your camera work. The reds start off their show like most other display teams but the second half of the show is a bit manic, maybe you had another person 'spotting', if you did'nt you did a great job of holding it all together. MY COMPLIMENTS
the red arrows come to my town twice a year for the air show. all i have to do is literally put my shoes on and walk down to the sea front about 10 mins away :)
Canadians and Mexicans can stay out, they are worse than wet backs because they come here to get away from work, not to find it. for me they are worse puss** than the French by far.

I think the red arrows should make a swastika formation and then break apart to symbalise the fall of the evil reich.
Just my opinion
