I've been using an angled brush with some black eye shadow. Would the next logical step be to try a gel? How is it different and which gel liner would you recommend?

I have an angle shaped brush and a thin little one like you. I use my angled brush on my waterline and the gel eyeliner i've found stays on all day. I use my thin brush on my top lid for a thin line. Just saying (:

You can't actually use gel on your waterline, cause that'll just clump up or wash off really quickly and look terrible. You should only ever use pencil on your waterline.

Well, I wouldn't because if you blink - it'll get onto the whites of your eye and it'll be PAINFUL!

i wouldn't advise it, i would use a soft kohl pencil, cause it goes on smooth. if you want an eyeliner to stay on longer on the waterline then use a waterproof eyeliner pencil. hope i could be of help :)

hold your lashes down and close your eyes when you apply it, and then just curl them to make them look curly when you're done.

I have the Deep Plum from CS.... I really love it but it does kinda stain your eye lids... so u really have to work to get it off... and even then it still looks a little pink...lol but it didnt really bother me.... u should try it. Be prepared to buy more than one item from CS tho... bc shipping is pretty expensive... I bought a bunch of stuff at once to make it worth it.... =) hope this helps.
