C8 Tragedy in Parkersburg, WV-Part 1

Kelly, I saw an article today in the Parkersburg news about C8 causing Thyroid problems. I have just been here a few years and starting hearing about Our Sick Little Valley. I did more research and found your videos. I wondered what has happened lately with your cause and lawsuit. People I meet are worried about their cancer risks. ive lived less than a mile from dupont in mid ohio valley for most of my life and everyone in my neighborhood has had or died from cancer..........my grandfather died from lung cancer and he didnt smoke......

Wow i cant believe i found these...Dupont is causing all this?? WTF why havent i heard about this...My mom was diagnosed with MS too..(cant spell Multiple-Schlorosis or whatever lol) but she was diagnosed about 3 years ago and its been horrible for all of us...Dupont is the reason for it?

I grew up less than a mile away from DuPont from birth until I was 18. I have no health issues, nor do my parents or siblings. I have a 3 year old son with no health issues. I have 3 nephews, again, no health issues.

That plant was there a good thirty years before you were even born.

And why does everybody attack DuPont? There are at least a dozen chemical plants in the Mid Ohio Valley that have had release issues. Ever heard of Eremet? Or Shell? Or BP-Amaco?

And do you know where our "uncontaminated" water comes from? Little Hocking, OH, which is straight across the river from DuPont.

Yes, DuPont has been dumping PFOA in the Parkersburg area for well over 50 years. Why DuPont? We must start somewhere and all these chemical giants need to clean up their act. Yes, Eremet, Shell and BP-Amaco, but one step at a time. Also, Little Hocking water district has the HIGHEST contamination levels. Have you read Callie Lyons book yet? She gives a pretty good picture on what is happening in the area.

Look at all the negative numbers beside each comment. To me, that shows that someone is trying to cause harm to your cause, & concerns. Don't let them!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm not saying DuPont doesn't make and use C-8, but many companies including some up river from Parkersburg do too, but yet DuPont is the only one accepting responsibility. Why should Dupont take all of the blame for 3-M who made it and used it for 50 years and all of the others who still use it too. Just a simple question.

think about all the polutants in the charleston area/ kanawaha river which flows directly into the ohio. they need to be stopped!!

What I would like to know..Dupont is several miles downriver from Parkersburg..How did the C8 flow up river??

It's not that far upriver. Remember, they haven't just been releasing it into the water but also releasing it into the air and injecting it into the ground. When it rains, it comes back down.

To add more grief, WV gave you and your sister MS, but laws will not allow you to use MM for treatment, which will be needed in the later stages of MS.

C8 has destroyed my brain,my kidneys and liver are bad and I have severe allergies. I could paint myself yellow and pee on the bushes. I could pass out from my narcolepsy and drop stuff from my cataplexy, scream about knotted muscles from fibromyalgia. Let's make a T-shirt with the Dupont oval on top of a toilet with "this is where your clean water went" or a teflon pan with "Dupont a slick trick that stays", "Nothing gets us wet" or "Hillbilly holocaust"
