  • Yeah! charged!! I did something similar, spliced a 12 volt car charger with a usb cable because it was no longer working in my car. White n Green wires are not used. thanks!

  • ...average cellphone battery voltage: 3.5V

And USB voltage, as you said, 5V. Which does give you good charging, but — since you avoid charger controller, be sure to unplug the cable as soon as the battery is full. Oh wait...

  • Just remember to unplug the usb when battery is full as this would not stop charging the battery, even when full

  • So what exactly are the chances of me frying my samsung magnet battery by trying this?

  • @iguanabfamus

low but depends on how smart you are.

  • fair warning, fried the shit out of my motorola atrix.. have to go buy a new phone today..

  • @Unboundkhaos

sorry man disclaimer is in the details section haha

  • @cheder92 I know, just doesnt work on the atrix

  • come on people spread this shit around.

  • Hey, I have my old BlackBerry Storm 1, do you think this'll work on it?

  • @nightrise73

yes it should but i don't know your battery setup. just be careful not to cross any wires.

  • @cheder92 Yu Kno How to make a cell phone *HeadFone* Out Of A Ipod Head Phone

  • @Fr3shSwaggKhidztv

yeah sure do you have something that actually plugs into the phone (a data cable or maybe a hands free device)

  • Can you do that with a regular charger? A car charger? Or does it have to be USB?

  • @55Megsme

it will work with any type of charger but do NOT use anything that plugs into the wall to directly charge a battery.

  • lol, I put in the normal charger but it did nothing. Now I did your method + the original charger and now its charging :D

  • @nOewL

    im so glad :-)

  • It's actually not all that dangerous! I did it and got shocked. It only stung for a sec(:

  • @tiawia98

  • @cheder92

you need some vitamin STFU. lol jk

  • @tiawia98

well if all these people did it and didnt get shocked then i would say that it is you, sir, who is causing the problem.

  • Thanks alot dude really didn't expect it to work

  • heehaw!!!

  • yeeha!!!

  • well ive charged the phone like 50+ times like this with no problems so no it wont.

  • Thats dangerous. it could blow ur usb hub

  • If anyone needs tips I can help.

  • @cheder92 can i use this to turn on my phone without a battery if i put the wires directley on the prongs that the battery connects to inside the phone, i just got an evo 3d but they forgot 2 send the battery and theres no batterys that fit it anywh in town and i wanna play with it so bad lol, my epic battery has 3 prongs like more, but the evo 3d has 4

  • @zackphy

the third prong is a sensor for charging. just use positive and negative. its clearly labeled on the battery.
