Well there's a huge price range, it all depends on what you're looking for. Actually they come in both manual and automatic, there's quite a few of both.
Did you have any tailpipe clearance issues on the driver side between the gas tank and frame rail/spring shackle...? Im currently trying to set my 65 with a simmilar setup. Thanks- and nicely done!
Thank you. Nope, I had my exhaust guy do it and he told me everything went smoothly, when I looked up under the car it looked like he had more than enough room on either side of the tank.
It increases the stroke of the motor (how far the piston moves up and down in the cylinder) allowing for more air/fuel to be pulled into the cylinder generating more power.
I'm not even sure, the ones that were on there when I bought it were pretty crappy and cheap looking. After the stroker 347 get's finished this winter I'll put some new headers on, but I'm not sure which ones at this point in time.
I'm building a blown 302 roller motor, I decided against the 347 or 331 because the life expectancy of the engine is short due to the stroke angle, supposedly it wears the walls and rings fast.
It's pretty close to stock. It's a 302 from a '68 Mustang. In addition to the exhaust system I've got a mild cam, 600 cfm Edelbrock carb, Edelbrock Performer 289 intake and a K&N filter, I also just added an electric fan yesterday.
I plan on getting a new intake, new heads with roller rockers, a larger cam and a then I just see how I like it after that. Eventually I'd like to put a blown stroker 347 in it.
I have a 3-speed 65 mustang and its manual, surprisingly easy and fun to drive even tho it has a long 3rd gear

hey what exactly does a 347 stroker do?
geektar03 2 years ago
It increases the stroke of the motor (how far the piston moves up and down in the cylinder) allowing for more air/fuel to be pulled into the cylinder generating more power.
65gt 2 years ago
so its like a add on to the engine? does that mean you have to increase the pipes as well?
geektar03 2 years ago
No, it's a different bottom end (crank, rods, and piston).
