Yes that's true, but it's not the NEC line, its the Princeton Branch, the line uses 1 or 2 Arrow IIIs.

The Comet IB Cars are actually old Arrow III Electrical Multiple Unit cars that were converted into regular push pull cars.

I guess when they converted the MU Cars to Comet 1B's they eliminated the center doors. I have been a few Comet 1B cars and I have noticed that there is a space for a center door but the door is not there.
