my favorite George Harrison song (post-Beatles). I love all the performances of this concert, esp this one-how they all are synchronized and how Dhani is so into this song!
I love the way the guitarists and the drummers are in perfect synchronization. Not an easy thing to do when you have a "football team" of musicians on the stage.
It's funny watching Paul playing the song about himself. Geoge was helped by Paul alot, but things went pretty sour in the "Let It Be" stages. Atleast they made up later on. It's too bad Brian Epstein passed away because their leadership really conflicted after that. Paul was trying to hold it together & they wanted to go on their own ways. :O(
Who were all the different drummers here? I'm pretty sure I see Starr, Keltner...who else? In particular, who is the one with the half-balding head? Thanks Joel in Tucson
someone other than clapton is singing aswell, because i've seen clapton singing nothing while there was singing, i believe it may be jeff lynne (correct me if i'm wrong)
This song rocks. The high-energy smiling mood of everyone, the 3 drum kits in sync, the horn section, clapton on the wah-wah pedal..the vocals.. all A+ in my book. Any old politics aside, whatever they may or may not have been, I think george would still be happily singin "you don't see cryin!" May peace and love bless all the musicians who made this heartfelt offering to, and honoring of, George's music and spirit. - Special thanks and blessings to the musical director, Eric Clapton.
Lol yes it had a lot to do with Paul. It was George's way of expressing himeslf after having a raw with Paul in the studio. Honestly I have no idea how such a collection of geniuses could coexist at all but they did it.
Why do people pretend to see things that are not there? If this song was about Paul...do you really think they would play it with him present? "Being there at the right time'
Cheaper than a dime" ? After Pauls great emotional performance of "All things must past" and "Something"..do you think he grew up and you didnt?
there was always sibling rivalry between John Paul and George, they were together since they were teenagers. They all had their gripes with each other, like brothers do.
I thought that the song was supposedly a dig about Paul? I love it, that the lyric "you made me such a big star" they choose to show a close up of McCartney!
Und jetzt brüllen wir alle mal gaaanz laut in die Mikros. Scheißegal ob wir dabei den Ton treffen oder nicht, bei einer derartigen Stimmung fällt das niemandem auf. Alles fertig? Los gehts!
No no neither Tom Petty nor Andy Fairweather have hats on so they're not the ones in question.
The guy in the little hat to the Stage right (Dhani's left) of Dhani is MARC MANN. He and Andy Fairweather did pretty much all the slide work on the night...
Christ, when I watch ANY of these numbers from this show, the hair stands up on my neck and arms, get a lump in my throat and become misty. To see all of these great artists and friends paying homage to George is truly heart-stirring...(gulp)inspiration to us all...
I bet George was there too, in his picture! and not just in this song but in all of them. especialy while my guitar gently weeps, his energy is so strong in that song i can feel it through the computer!!! also ViolinNinja77 is sooo right!!!!
I think this whole concert was just fantastic! Seeing all of George's friends and family and fans come together in song, showing how they really loved and appreciated him is just powerful!
Clapton didn't actually play the solo. I don't know who did - clearly the camera crew were struggling to make it out too as they didn't get a single shot of the solo guitarist.
and i believe that replying to my comment makes urs mean sumthin too? i know ur gunna say the same thing about this, but please dont write it, else you'll just prove that you want attention.
I liked when when during the line "You may be such a big star..." the video cuts to a shot of Paul playing piano. He knew the song was about him. You can see it in his face, trying to look nonchalant.
I love how they put this right after "My Sweet Lord" and right before "I'll See You In My Dreams" so it's kinda like, ascent to heaven, nirvana, denouement.
Jeff Lynne is to Eric Clapton's right. He produced many of George's album's & The Beatles Love album as well as sang with George, Tom Petty & Roy Orbison as The Travelling Wilbury's.
Did anybody notice George's son Dhani? I hav'nt read any comments about him. Like maybe we might be hearing music of his own in the near future or that he looks exactly like his father. That's all.
