If this is the "first 450lb life ever" then how come the guy says "good enough for second place" at the end? Doesn't that mean someone did it before him faster? And what is, the local backyard strongman competition? These guys don't even have enough budget to spread out the equipment. He almost tripped over that log press.
ITs definately technique taht seperates people from being able to lift these. It takes alot of pec crushing strength to get that initial lift, its like hugging someone, very similar muscle use. Ive never had the opportunity to lift one. Amazing strength for this!
That very intersting man..my stepson is 18 and can only deadlift 300, yet can lift a 250 stone..??? Not busting, just identifying, It must be a bodytype thing
Has nothing to do with bodytype. I squat roughly 500 and deadlift in the same range but I cant get the 315lbs stone. Alot of technique. Alot of ab, lower leg, and sometimes alot of upper strength when going for the taller platforms.
dont drop that on your feet

Its Josh Thigpen. Good friend and fellow lifter of mine, I would say he trains me more than he does lift with me. He is a huge freak of natural.

its more of a powerclean because you have to get it to your chest its very far from a deadlift.

Holy shit, people don't know how hard it is to do that. Much harder than just deadlifting 450 pounds.
What is this guys name? They only say Josh on the video.
