totally awesome, went to see bruce in manchester a couple of yrs ago with my buddy dartmoor, totally changed my life, incredible music, incredible man.
I grew up in a little village, surrounded by woods and fields. In summer every kid from school helped with the crops for dime and a beer. We kissed our first girl in the fields, went hunting in the fall, learned about nature and by that about being part of earth as mankind.
Now it's a suburb where kids think porc-chops come from the candyfactory and yuppie enviromentalists build estates wanting to return to nature? wanting to abolish age-old hunting? I too prefer my memories ...
It was my sons 6th birthday recently, We took a trip to a small town of 700 people where I grew up as a kid, I put him on my lap and let him steer the vehicle, I moved the rear view mirror so I could see His face and looked into heaven that day.....
....It was my sons 6th birthday recently, We took a trip to a small town of 700 people where I grew up as a kid, I put him on my lap and let him steer the vehicle through town, so much has changed , I moved the rear view mirror so I could see His face and looked into heaven that day.
My Hometown ist da keine Ausnahme. Danke Bruce, mach möglichst noch viele Jahre lang Musik - nächstes mal bin ich dabei.
I recently took a trip back to my home town. Growing up in the 60s, the population was between 4,000 and 5,000. It's been some 20 years since I was there. As I drove through the streets, gone was the small town feeling. Developers had cut down much of the woods and built subdivisions. Yuppies moved in and then decided to run for public office to show us country folks how to run our town. I thought of this song as I drove through. I won't go back again. I prefer to remember it like it was...
nee glaube nich, das klavier staht da und davor sind keyboards. so hatten sie damals die bandaufstellung immer, also denke ich, dass er da einfach ein/zwei songs nur gespielt hat. wie er es auf der 2002 tour immer gemacht hat
To me, the Macca comparison is unfortunate and there should be no comparison, they are radical different talents: Macca is a melody machine with God-given melody gifts, and Springsteen writes passionate lyrics and sings them with feeling. And don't tell me that Macca is pop, listen to "Memory Almost Full" or "Chaos and Creation" and tell me that is pop! Springsteen and Macca both rule, end of story!!
Bruce is a living legend!!! He gives us inspiring messages with beautiful lyrics and he gives his messages in his own distinct way:) His music changes the thoughts and lifes of people who listen to him:) This is simply a billiant song:)
where does the macca comparison come in? Macca wrote polite little pop ditties about holding hands and shit like that. Springsteen writes about life and how it is, this performance is sensational, one man a piano and immeasurable talent, how many other artists could pull this off?
i totally agree with your commemt, and to answer your question ,NONE. springsteen is irreplacable in modern music and must go down in history as the greatest live performer of all time and a genius at writing and composing songs for the masses.he is a legend and a hero to us all.cheers!
Not as good singer as Paul McCartney, but his voice is kind of special, it's cool. Good pianist. Good song, but he coul've done a better job with the melodies...
well he's actually a way better singer then Paul McCartney. perhaps this is not the best song to show of his singing skill but you should check out born to run or thunder road. Bruce is the best!

All those who tell of their home towns are lucky, I moved about every 4 years from birth. I'm now 18, and its hard most times. I love this song

in globalisation you can have everything in a small town. big cities are not an option anymore if you want to live with your soul intact.
