Honestly I am so fucking sick of people comparing God of war and Dante's Inferno. I've seen both games played all the way through and I enjoyed both of them. They're different. God of war is better if you're more into violence and gore, Dante's inferno is better for those who like games with more of a creepy/disturbing feel to them. The games are similar but different, and both of them are good. I love the poem though, it's definitely worth reading.

Dantes Inferno is nothing like the book and rips off just about everything in God of War, I've played both and whilst I enjoyed Dantes Inferno sometimes I just couldn't stop thinking "failed rip-off" :\

If they make a number 2, hopefully it'll be more unique and enjoyable.

Obviously they're not going to base the game word for word off of the poem...and YES god of war and this game are similar, but do you know why? In the poem, Dante's Inferno, Dante describes Cerberus with human like qualities. That's why in the game it looks more humanish. Kinda.

Dante obviously got Cerebus (and MANY other things in this game, at least) from Greek mythology where he was, in fact, specifically stated to be a dog. I've never read The Divine Comedies, but Cerebus was originally a dog in Greek mythology, so Dante was wrong not to say so. Then again, Hades isn't exactly Hell, so I guess he can do whatever he wants.
