Alright, I love classical music. Violin and cello are a couple of my favorite instruments... so I don't understand why I never got into the Vitamin String Quartet versions. Does anyone else think that maybe the violins in their arrangements are just a little empty and ear-piercing? Or is it just me?
Then in 1999 they released another ep named Sound Asleep Ep. In 200 they released their real debut album Origin but then signed with Wind-up. Wind-up waited 3 years for Amy's voice to mature and in 2003 they released Fallen their major label album.
Actually the first song Amy wrote was a classic piece when she was 11. The she wrote a song name "A single tear" when she was in the 8th grade. In 1993 she met Ben Moody at a band camp and they formed the band then. Their first ep was released in 1998 and was called Evanescence ep.
I have some actual sheet music for this song. it has the notes for vocals, guitar, and piano if you're interested. As far as violin, I'm sure you could sort something out with them ^^.
of course. on my profile there's a link to my myspace if you could send me your e-mail there, I'm not sure if Youtube blocks things like that. (I don't use this that much)
holy moly!!! wow 10 years and people are still crazy about it. and ya gotta hand it to amy lee usually when those kinda bands go for that long their songs start to really suck but evanescence kept their cool
Wikipedia sucks, Evanescence was not formed in 1998, but people insist they were, what can I say XD I used to be a big fan of Eva, I still like them though :)
I heard that her and Ben were having a piano competition or something and so he wrote My Immortal and she wrote Give Unto Me and he said she won...I dunno though.
Amy wrote "A Single Tear" when she was in the 8th grade so I don't know
I also heard somewhere else that Ben and Amy wrote My Immortal when they were 14
Your star was the first song i ever heard from evanescence and i got so hooked on evanescence since then i was searching like a crazy lady for the string quartet since this is my fave song so THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!
Despite my aversion to this type of sound in strings instruments, this version is badass.

I didn't mean my comment as bad. In fact, Battlestar Galactica (the new not the old)is one of my favorite shows of all time.

Nop 13 years ;) They were formed in 1994, unlike what Wikipedia says -.-' People should write correct information, oh well...
ImaginaryVoncroy 4 years ago 3
my mistake. I just generalized what she said on that last Planet Rock on Fuse. ^^

lee says she started writing at sixteen. the chorus from lithium was one of the first things she ever wrote
GurtrudeGroinMcMuffi 3 years ago
Hmmm, if my memory serves the first song she wrote was "Solitude" and it was written before My Immortal or Understanding written in 1996-1997...
ImaginaryVoncroy 3 years ago
ah, i appear to have met a larger fan than me. Either that or you know well how to operate the evanescence wiki!
