Will Trautwein, a good neighbor, a good friend, good at anything he put his mind too. He was a great kid, well rounded and true. He was one of my best friends when we were young and he gave to me more then even I know. We spent summers together, either at the pool for swim team or in the park listening to his guitar.
Everyday I find something new in my life that was either inspired by him, or taught to me by him. He taught me to play music for the joy of it and to spread it to those who want to hear it. He was the reason I picked up guitar. He gave me the part of my life that I value more than just about anything. I thank him for what he gave to me, gave to my friends, gave to everyone he knew.
For those who didn't know him, you may be able to relate by a similar situation although I pray you cannot. The Will-to-Live foundation is truly an act of God through the Trautwein family. The Trautweins, to those who know them are not your average family. They are all well-rounded, smart, musical, and athletic and gave to the community
Mr. Trautwein coaches community baseball teams including a team I was on for a season. Mrs. Trautwein coaches Girl's Lacrosse at Northview. Will refereed Lacrosse kid's lacrosse games in the community. It is a truly amazing family. If teen suicide can happen to a loving, active family, then it can happen anywhere.
Although it is horrible, the death of Will brought the community of Johns Creek together in a way nobody that didn't know Will or the Trautweins can understand. He loved people, he loved watching people love each other. He loved better than us all, truer than us all, and although he may not have known it, we loved him.
The message the Will-to-Live foundation is sending is sad, scary, but true. It is a problem that needs to be addressed, and I hope that everyone watching this spreads the word to help a family, a community that has gone through more than most can even begin to imagine and somehow came out strong.
10-90, you taught me that Mr. T and you all are a living model for that life strategy. I love you Mr. John, Mrs. Susie, Tommy, Michael, Holyn, and Will, forever and always.
Remember 13. See you in the sky someday longtime buddy

The best way to solve it, as the Trautweins have said, is to reach out to kids, with an organization for the kids, through the kids, by the kids.
