  • RE: the title. TRIALS not TRAILS

  • I love it... the half of you that call yourself Christians are failing to do what Jesus tells us to do and forgive people when they mess up. The other half are pointing the finger at Christians and saying they are judgmental while in the same post you are judging Haggard for messing up. Did he mess up, yes. But at lest he is being honest about it and working towards the same standard to which he preached. He is trying not to be a hypocrite...I suggest the rest of us do the same.

  • @Silentbass7 Speaking as a Non-Christian, i believe that Ted deserved the ridicule and scorn that he's received; he sure had no problem dishing it out. And yes, he WAS the quintessential hypocrite; there's no getting around it.

While I believe that his church sending him into exile was wrong, it may have been the best thing that could happen to him. But if Christians believe in "trusting God", then this was all part of God's plan. Ted may find that his best days are still ahead of him.

  • @Silentbass7 Haha yes this man CLEARLY shows the way to higher moral standards.

  • Dayyyummmm!! During those years as a high flying Conservative Republican Chris-Fundie, didn't he ever put aside some savings?? An emergency fund?? Ted, call Dave Ramsey!!

Time was when I took great pleasure in watching Ted's downfall; the hypocrite deserved it. Now, instead of feeding upon the hatred for Ted Haggard & his family, I just hope that we can all learn a few lessons in Karmic Justice.

  • "in this stage of my life am a loser" umm if only you and the church didn't encourage society to make such a big deal out of homosexuality.

  • omg ive lost everything but i can still play golf. what an american. im sleeping in motel 8 or 6 whoa what abject poverty

  • ted= just another epic fail on christianity brainwashing

  • Normally I would feel sorry for someone like this, but since he was such a smug christian cult leader, he deserves it.

  • @adkinsjr damn right

  • Ted Haggard is a great man... Judge anyone and you too will be judged MT 7:1.... We need to get rid of our religious spirits of legalism.. and realize that with a repentant heart Gods grace covers all!

  • yeap he is a loser LOL

  • I wish this sociopath wasn't gay. He give us bad name. He gives bad name to the human race.

  • Sad!

    Jesus fucking Christ.

  • who? Mike Jones who? Mike Jones Who? Mike Jones

  • phony

  • By the way, who are these wives of these liars that turn a blind eye to the truth. Are they crazy? You know they have to be aware that they've been lied to, cheated on,etc. The best thing the could do for their deceptive spouses is say," Hey, you're on your own!" It must be low self esteem.

  • He's one of those self-hating gays, which makes it even harder for gays to get the civil rights the rest of us have. From Roy Cohn to Larry Craig, complete hypocrites, so fuck 'em.

  • The documentary is done by Nancy Pelosi's daughter. Interesting.

  • To thy own self be true = true happiness

  • You know at first I thought "ok he lied he should be banned from the Church. " But then I thought about the people he preached to about how god forgives etc. So it bothers me that these people of so-called faith could not forgive him. That just tells me that the religous folk always shoot themselves in the foot when they have a chance of actually showing critics of religion that they practice what they preach.

  • You are absolutely right, the church needs to practice what it preaches and forgive. The church is to restore those that fall. Who among us have not fallen, made a mistake or sinned? If the church can not be there for those that do, no matter who you are-then the church really isn't the church is it?

  • so you must be the gay prostitute then?

  • nope i just understand what its like to be straight and struggle with pornography.

  • good response.

but the thing is is that he preached against homosexuality, then for a 3 year period he did meth and a male prostitute. thats why i never listen to preachers. sorry for insulting you earlier

  • He preached against it so strongly because he was trying to cover his own sins. It's not hard to realize the fake pastors. But like you, they mess up and they all have a LONG way to go before they become perfect. Why do people assume that by people saying they are Christians they are not saying "I am perfect, hear me condemn" but rather I realize I'm wrong but I found that God Himself is willing to forgive me for my sins.

  • @delgado4652 DID he really preach so much against it? As far as I have heard he kind of "joked" about it (said something like "I know what YOU did last night, and if you don't do what I tell you, I will tell your wife" and such things. No doubt he was a product of the culture he was brought up in. Homosexuality was a disgrace and a sin, I am sure he had a terribly difficult time with his struggles against what he felt was perverse and sinful desires.

I don't think we shall judge anyone. Jesus sa

  • he's GAYYYYYYY.....big deal..so is my cousin barry

  • Rev. Crisco is on his way to Frisco`

  • Finally a REAL MAN OF GOD...

I am proud to be a CHRISTIAN after watching this Brother in Christ total HONESTY...This is what it takes to be a REAL MAN OF GOD THAT LOVE THE LORD JESUS...YOU and your family will always be in my prayers. God has already restore him, not by money or material goods, but by his first ministry...HIS FAMILY IS STILL WITH HIM....What a reward for TRUTH in Christ...

  • It's Trials, not Trails lolol...

  • Ted loves cock

  • Disturbing

  • |It is difficult as a strong believer to have strong 'sin'. |A friend of mine is Gay and a strong believer in a personal relationship with god (I still know him from my days as a christian). He understands homosexuality to be a sin, and so fights hard not to 'be gay'. The individual ends up hating themselves more. The best way to fight it is to get rid the temptation by fighting against them. i feel sorry for them because it is real psychological torment, full on christian or not.

  • The best way to fight is to fight the pre-scientific desert nomad religion that can't accept facts of nature.

Christianity, for many people has moved forward into the 21st century. They understand that the passage that calls homosexuality an "abomination" is no more relevant than all the other verses around it that call things like braiding hair and eating shelfish abominations. They know the authors of the Bible were doing their best but had limited knowledge.

  • There was much much better at the time these pre-scientific desert nomad people were writing. |If they had a real God it should have told them to join Buddha or start reading Plato.

  • Hmm,

Sorry, but I'm not really remembering when the early Old Testament books were written - before Plato, I think.

But anyway, you make a good point.

  • Anyone who will get their nose out of the Bible and look at the world around them can plainly see that if God wants anything, he wants a diversity of life on Earth. This includes a diversity of sexuality.

Otherwise, why would he have made homosexuality appear in almost every species of mammal?

You can't have it both ways. If God doesn't make mistakes, then you've got to accept that the authors of the Bible did.

  • |Obviously the god of the bible |does NOT want diversity, and this is clearly demonstrated page after page throughout the bible.

No God made homosexuals.........there is no such god.

The bible is not worth reading to get any moral/ethical advice from.

  • Well, the god of the bible is not whom I was refering to. I don't think the god of the Old Testament exists - he's just too crazy and evil to have created an orderly world (Jesus had a better handle on God, but hardly any of his followers seem to).

And when I say "he" I speak metaphorically. When I say "God" I mean "the forces that create and control the universe." Saying "the laws of physics" would perhaps cover the same idea, except I'm willing to entertain the idea of a sentient entity.

  • How the hell do you know what God wants?

  • He told me. He wants a peanut butter sandwich.

    With milk.

  • In the US milk is a strange concept

  • Well, drinking the lactation of other animals should probably be a strange concept anywhere.

But as they say, God works in mysterious ways.

  • Can someone post this documentary? It won't be shown outsdie of the States :(

  • Yes I second that

  • Its really sad because if he would just been honest and accepting about who he was a learned to love himself(exactly the way he is) he wouldnt feel so separated from everyone and everything including God.

  • the bible God is obviosuly apposed to homosexuality. Sure there are ways to twist the words etc so as to change that fact, but if one is smart enough you wont be able to do it to them.

    |the best thing is to just realise that christianity is not worth the time of day.

  • theres no need to twist anything the fact of the matter is the men who translated the bible did so with their own prejudices and if you look at the original texts its completely different to what so called christians preach now.

  • Actually the original text are alot worse than what is written now. You should be thankful that they do add interpretations. At least you admit that the bible is nothing more than man made words. So just chuck it out and learn from reality itself.

  • Oh Ted, you're situation is so dire, looks like maybe you should just go off and fuck some more guys.

  • I dont feel sorry for you Haggard
