  • couldnt this vid have been condensed down to say......... 7 seconds?

  • give me back my 2:40 of my life

  • @smclavis..Ya I thought so..useless Demo..

  • Baseball bats don't hit back...

  • @liotta75 yeah but it can hit you in the nuts

  • is this grandmaster lim of the jung ki kwan?

  • Made in China.

  • @MrRRW555

    Hapkido: Made In Korea.

  • @MoriKitsune I was referring to the bat.

  • That guy looks like a car seller

  • On TV I once saw a strong man break a bat in half using pure strength---not by hitting it. With the bat on the ground (one hand pulling and the other pushing) he bent the stem of the bat till it snapped.

  • @ streeteffective

Lol your so wrong its not funny, theres a world record for snapping a baseball bat at the thick end by a muay thai fighter, search it, this man did well but he did snap the easiest part of the bat.

  • @RainboColour

This guy is in his 50s. But I have also seen him break 2 bats that were still green inside he can also easily smash 3 paving (concrete) bricks on his hand with a hammer. Pretty impressive

  • I've seen baseball players can break bats over their knees without martial arts training.

  • WTF!!!

  • His two students in red uniform most have a lot of faith in him...if he by any chance missed one of them would of been paying for it...

  • @CheetaRevised

They are his sons, both 4th Dan and amazing to watch

  • @smclavis Ahh ok, so answer this. Why is some Hapkidoists wear button down shirts and ties as opposed to training uniforms?

  • @CheetaRevised

They are usually the masters or instructors at gradings or demonstrations.

You will find this at TKD gradings, tournaments and demos too. Maybe its a Korean thing.

  • @CheetaRevised The same reason that you will often find kung-fu or tai-chi instructors in silk button down uniforms (which are easily damaged) while students typically remain in gi's (which do not originate with Japanese martial arts) that are considerably more durable.

The instructor doesn't need the tougher gi because you're never going to get the opportunity to lay hands on him or her to begin with, so damage to their street clothing is not a concern.

  • bats don't hit back..... nah, just kidding, that was awesome

  • Look at him limping when he walks away after breaking that bat haha

  • the master is praying on hes mind "oh lord pls , i need to break this baseball but , i really cant , i just want to show that i am the real master , pls help me to break this one i beg you :( " xD!

  • Hapki Master!

  • I'm getting those shins. Just need like 1 more year o_o

  • My only criticism is that I had to wait 2 and a half minutes to see it.

  • rofl that was sooo hard. ANy mma fighter could do that without even thinking about it.

  • @PizzaHero92: Oh, for sure; the legendary powers of MMA fighters are held in awe by all other styles. I hear you guys can catch thrown knives three at a time, block bullets with your teeth, and crack concrete with your balls. All at that the same time.

  • he started to limp a bit but very good

  • Hmpffftt!! Bat no hit back!

  • agreed. Also he broke the little part of the bat.

  • @DuykRuyk: With his shin. He broke it with his shin. Most people would just drop if they tried that; there'd be no point in kicking this guy in the legs, he wouldn't even blink. And as someone else commented previously, imagine that kick hitting you in the balls.

  • I would counter grapple it and break it. I'm not just going to stand with my legs wide open like a karate guy, I'm going to stay defensive and wait for that strike, and counter it and take him to the ground. Most martial arts when they hit the ground they're fucked.

  • "Most martial arts when they hit the ground they're fucked."

Let's see, how many martial arts specialise in ground-fighting? Just off the top of my head: Jui-Jutsu, Tai-Jutsu, UFC... and Hapkido. Hapkido also has a range of grapple-and-kick combinations, so grappling a Hapkido master wouldn't stop him kicking you. Assuming you can actually get him down, how are you gonna hurt him? The guy just broke a baseball bat with his shin; I know who my money would be on in a ball-kicking contest.

  • Add judo and sambo to that... people that say this stuff are just ignorant, so just ignore them.

  • @JCLeSinge rofl ufc is a martial art? Real fucking genius right here.

  • @PizzaHero92: Barely; UFC is welcome to the sort of fighters it attracts.

  • @JCLeSinge Yeah, too true!!

  • No he often does 2 or more bats. This was his first demonstration for a while so he started light

  • no practicality you say. get kicked by the master and say no practicality again.

  • @lilmurfer i would never let him get a chance to kick me

  • This martial art is incredible. If you ever find yourself faced with two crouching guys holding a baseball bat in some really peculiar fashion, in some dark alley, you will be prepared.

  • dat's mah friend's dad !! ds dojan is at pakuranga ! lol nyc..

  • Perfectly good baseball bat chopped in two pieces. What good is it for now?

  • kick in nuts not good

  • entertaining despite it's lack of practicality

  • Its for demonstration of power and Ki energy it's practicality depends on what you take from the demonstration. I know I wouldn't want to receive a low leg kick from him,

  • or a kick in the balls

  • it has to do with focus, following through with an attack, pain threshold and not hesitating...

  • lack of practicality? dude if he can do that to a baseball bat with a kick like that imagine what he would do to some guiys balls if he kicked it

  • @WTKSB1987 lol hopkido is about the most practical art outside of japanese jujitsu this demo i feel shows the true power of a low kick .. i have video and pic of me breaking a boxers femor in a cage match im guessing that to be about as strong as a baseball bat

  • @SanSuMartialArts ya thats easy because boxers dont worry about kicks thats why you landed it they only worry about hands. send the video to me if you like. to be a complete fighter you have to have knowledge of your enemies ranges(leg range, hand range, take down range, Knee range and elbow range and ground fighting etc.) Fighting to us is different than the way you think about it. To us our opponent makes our technique.

  • @WTKSB1987 not so. say you had a baseball bat, but your baseball bat container were only half as long as it needed to be. getting it now? practical.

  • Ouch...

  • that was still dope no matter what n e 1 says

  • check him out breaking 2 bats you tube search 2 base ball bat breaking

  • if you do a search for 2 Base ball bat breaking you will find a video of master breaking 2 bats its no that good in quality picture but he is wearing the same suit

  • In response to people requesting that the guy "breaks the bigger part of the bat".

    1. It's too thick for any human.

    2. The object will always snap at it's weakest point, therefore there is no way to manipulate the bat to make it brake on it's strongest side since the force will always escape at the easiest point. This is a very difficult brake from a conditioning stand point.

  • @streeteffective thats exactly what i said to myself when i read his comment

  • He broke the part of the bat where its most weakest. I was expecting him breakin the hard part of the bat. But it takes skills, precision and experience to break a bat.

  • It is actually a New Zealand bat so no asian tricks here

  • lol white people do more tricks than asian people ever see magic shows lol.

  • i know just go watch the Americanised Tae kwon do

  • nice

  • uuuuuuuuuuhhhh.. ok..

  • would have loved to see him break the bigger part of the bat rather than where the bat is the weakest.

But still a hard thing to do no doubt about that.

  • there is a vid on here with him breaking 2 bats, I will see if I can get a vid of him breaking 5 like he used too.

  • Increible

  • Master usually does 3-5 baseball bats at once but he hasn't been training for a while as he has been setting up Hapkido in New Zealand

  • i study haidong gumdo in australia but in a while im going to move to new zealand and try to learn hapkido where is his new school

  • "i study haidong gumdo in australia but in a while im going to move to new zealand and try to learn hapkido where is his new school"

Awsome you should like it I've been doing it for 9 years and I think it is an awsome martail art
