I love your little ones! I think it's wonderful to see a happy, warm, plump meerkat. Can you tell me how you went about bonding with them? I talked to a keeper at the San Diego Zoo who told me there is very little time to become part of a meerkat family--really just a few days after birth. If you don't interact with them from the beginning, she told me they would be really nasty. Obviously yours aren't at all, so I was just wondering.

shouldn't meerkats be free in the wild? and not in a humans home for their(human) personal enjoyment...........? it's nice that he/she is being looked after but they should really be in their natural environment shouldn't they? ....i'm just saying

It's more like a cat than a ferret. She isn't kept in a cage, she has the run of the house and a litter tray.
