  • Looks good!

  • little dragon poop?

  • little dragon bun or little dragon dumpling? Lisa is beautiful, btw :-)

    I love dim sum :-)

  • No. Not little dragon bun. The "long" in "xiaolong" does not mean dragon even though it's the same pronunciation. It mean "cage". So it means little cage dumplings. It's written

    小籠包

  • Same tone as long (dragon)? 4th voice? I have an aggressive little white snake, her full name is Xiao Bai Long. A coworker from Taiwan helped me with it. The written IS different, yes. The hardest part of learning Mandarin for me is the tones. :-p

  • No, not 4th tone. It's 2nd tone as in lóng. For most people who are not native speakers of tonal languages, the tones in Chinese is hard to master.

  • That's what I was asking.. long as in dragon is 4th tone, yes?

  • Dragon is lóng (2nd tone) written as 龍.

Cage is lóng (2nd tone) written as 籠. The only difference in writing 籠 and 龍 is that on top of 龍, you write the marks for bamboo 竹 and you get 籠. :)

  • i thought bao meant bun

  • Bao can mean bun but in this case they are not really buns.

  • hen hao chi ^^

  • I love xiaolong bao but it isn't taiwanese!

  • That's right. It's Shanghainese in origins.

  • Finally got it but don't ask me how. Looking for same on my TX but it sez I need to download some program so I'll leave it to u.
