Great country song. Country music is no longer as it was back then. I am only 39 but I always remember my mum and dad when I hear lovely songs like this one. Cheers
the song unchanging love by conway twitty is the song my husband asked me to marry him 38 yrs ago i never listened to country till i met him thats all i listen to now
You can hear the country in her voice. When she says, "oh no" I can feel her hurt! Its like David Allen Cole says "Son can you make em feel what cha feel inside?"
I'm 53 years old and black. I have been listening to country music all my life. Of course, when nobody's around (smile). Loretta, Merle, Conway, are a few of my favorites. Color has no barrier when it comes to good sounding music.
@raymosley448 No kidding?? I have never heard of a black man listening to country music, that is wonderful. How about Waylon Jennings, Luchenbach Texas, if you get goosebumps when he starts singing then you're a country fan, Let me know.
@tabseb3 When I would play gigs in honky tonks South and East of Austin, Texas back in the 70's there would be tables with real down-home black folks who wore cowby hats and boots and dug the country music. One of them told me that there were always lots of black cowboys. After the Civil War they would leave the plantation South and go West to Texas. Back then, being a cowboy was one of the main occupations for a working man and one out of three cowboys was black.
@tabseb3 sorry I took so long to answer.(just fooling around and saw ur mess; didn't think I was going to get feedback) Waylon is cool: so is Tanya Tucker, Jean Pruette, Loretta, and my friend...Willie Nelson.
Whats all this about plastic hat cowboys? Every style of music evolves over time. NO music style is the same as it was in 1974. Just like this is a far cry from Hank Sr in the 50's. Music will change over time. Country artists now days, I think, repsect thier roots and know who the greats are and still have that influence in thier music. "Make Beleive" sounds like a pop song, but Conway was considered a old school country artist? Its ok to like old country, but dont hate on the new stuff
I FULLY AGREE, COUNTRY MUSIC ISN'T WHAT IT USE TO BE. I WAS RAISED ON MUSIC LIKE THIS AND WOULDN'T HAVE IT ANY OTHER WAY!, ALTHOUGH I AM ONLY 20 YEARS OLD, I WAS RAISED OLD FASHIONED COUNTRY BOY STYLE! MY LIKES ARE MUD BOGGIN AT THE LOCAL MUD HOLE, AND "CLASSIC" COUNTRY MUSIC, (NOT NEW GAY COUNTRY OTHER THEN JOSH TURNER AND A FEW OTHERS) AND OF COURSE CLASSIC ROCK INCLUDING LYNARD SKYNARD, RUSH, ECT. I love this song and all others Conway, Merle Haggard, Loretta Lynn have to offer.<3333333
i love every song Loretta & Conway ever released!! :D most 18 yr olds 2day dnt have a clue who either of these great ppl are bt im proud to say im one of the few who do!! :D love these two!
My grandmother will come over to my house and tell me to look up this song. she will listen to it over and over and over. and i will sit there right beside her while she sings along. i love you so much grandma! :)
@brandonandkarine1 I like classical music and jazz but tonight I found myself listening to these fabulous songs by Loretta, Conway, George Jones and Tammy Wynette. It doesn't get any better than this. I can't imagine anyone not loving them. I think we'll be hearing them in Heaven, with our beloved country singers.
Oh! Does this bring back memories! I had just broken up with my 1st "real" boyfriend of 3 years when this song hit! I'd play it over and over and over on my 8-track knowing that Loretta felt like I did! Thank you SO MUCH for sharing it. It sounds better today than it did back then (better over the computer than on the 8-track)! Goodbye Loretta. (click)
I love this old country music, especially conway and loretta. Wish I could find all of their music. I would like to share it with my daughter like my dad did with me and my sisters. Thank you to whoever put it on utube.
This one of my favourite..been looking for this song and at last I got it...Reminds me of my late boyfriend who passed away on November 20th 2010...RIP my sweetheart..
Taylor Swift is not a country singer This younger bunch have hiJacked the country music name but they don't fool every body...All the plastic hat cowboys don't fool a real country fan....Hear that Nashville and so called country radio...
@latokatn506 - Wow! Someone else out there actually knows the truth about country music! SOME of the new stuff is OK...none of it is great...but no way in the world could you ever legitimately call it country music!
@latokatn506 - Wow! Someone else out there actually knows the truth about country music! SOME of the new stuff is OK...none of it is great...but no way...not by any stretch of the imagination could you ever legitimately call it country music!
@latokatn506 The young people did not hijack country the studios allowed it and we listen to it on the radio, not so much me as I live in Jamaica and has never called the radio station to request any of their songs.
@sl1k3st Wow, This song will for ever remind me also of my momma who also died on Nov 30 2010.. I keep finding myself bk at this song.. My momma always sang this to me... She died at age 55, so young.. I dont find the days and nights getting any eaiser do you?
@MzAwAkEn no not at all in matter of fact i think it has messed me up and i was just 12 then i didnt know nothing about death and now i wish to see her more then ever cause my dad was never there:'( and still isnt just sucks bu somehow i go on.......
I heard Loretta in an interview talking about recording this song. Back then they recorded songs in one take style and they had gotten to the end and it was perfect and Conway hung the phone up from the control booth (he talked the words over an actual phone from the control booth) to hard and it pissed Loretta off that he hung up with that 'tone' and she said she yelled "Just what did you mean by the way you hung that up!" And they had to re-record the song! LOL
I have been searching for this...the first country song that i came across in the late 70s.in fiji.....bring back memories...awesome...bring tears in my eyes
call me weird, but i swear, thats does not sound like Conway Twitty on the phone, it sounded a 100% Elvis :D Listen Close :D I Know There Voices Very Well, But This Does Not Sound Like Conway :D But Anyhow, Very Good Song :D Both Country Legends :D Well, 2 Legends On Legend List lol :D
most all of the female country singers today are copy cat acts trying to out-sing the other. SIngers like loretta and tammy and many others too from that area where all unique - nobody else sounded like them and they were from worlds of true hardships. not a mall influenced model/singer trying her skills on country songs and having a hit. Same goes for the male singers today but that story is even worse.
as a 23 yr old male, most would find it odd i like this song. in fact, all of musics greatest came from the 60s-80s. george jones, conway twitty all the greats. and not to forget randy travis
Jean30904 yep they are best. I also like Porter and Dolly and Tammy & George but there isn't anything better than Loretta and Conway for country music.
@twittiefan he truly is missed, i saw him here in Md, every time he was here from 79 til a few yrs b4 he left us.... he was truly an icon, a gentleman, entertainer, singer, and a sexy man, he sang to us women,, so sincere, wow 17 yrs gone now
i do have to agree, his music was and still is the most awesome music... i have seen him 54 times... him and his family was a dear part of my family's life... such awesome people... Conway twitty will always be missed many many yrs from now... God Bless...
absolutely love this song.it reminds me of a guy i loved so long ago, in 1986, even though there was 14 years between us, i couldn't stand to be away from him. in 1990, he died in an auto accident. i still think of him, even now.love you always, conway and loretta, for this beautiful song.
"If she kept interrupting me like that I'd bitch slap her Right through the phone!!!" Sorry, it's STILL not funny. That's Loretta Lynn you're talking about... One of the finest country singers ever & you have the audacity to joke about slapping her? REAL men don't joke about such things & If that's what you learned in college, I'd say your folks wasted their money; College degree? What you needed was some home-training; in good manners and how to respect women. Mind your language...
This authenticity of feeling in her performance here is what make me love country music...Music for grown-ups, those who have lived life.... Conway & Loretta, it don't get much better...
I love it. How could you not love these two. They are one of country music greatest duo's ever. We lost one of the best singers ever when we lost Conway!!!!
@justinge999 Yes, I know well what a joke is. Sorry, I simply didn't recognise your remark as such; an attempt at humour.... You see, there was no wit, no intelligence in the remark, I just thought you were a stupid teenager, when in fact, clearly, you're a scholar and a man of refinement., good breeding and character. Accept my apologies....
@grebel82 Jokes don't require intelligence... And neither does talking to someone like a snobby smart ass. And yes, I have a college degree.... Unlike yourself? And usually when there is an "lol" after something someone says with sarcasm, means there was a joke... Maybe you should work on finding those... Seeing as you have to be a prick to everyone to get your point across.
@justinge999 If she kept interrupting me like that I'd bitch slap her Right through the phone!!! Sorry, it's STILL not funny. I'm just sayin'
@jdsaratoga oh helllllllll no. country music today is more about how you look than how you sound and thats the truth. girls back in the day had both. and there were some of the roughest looking men in the history of music back in the day. Waylon Jennings would not be pretty enough to succeed today. even shooter has that rough/pretty boy thing going. you know waylon really did smell like whiskey and cigarettes and dirt. he was real
" There have been some wonderful duets, in country music history,...And with-out a doubt, Conway & Loretta, will be honorably placed within!" When I was young, & Dad & Mom, would play country music daily, I thought ...I'll never listen to that, when I grow up! " Well, shame the devil, & tell the truth,...I have a love of country music, that they instilled in me, that I dearly treasure!" I like alot of different ranges of music, ...But country & gospel, hold my heart! Thanks for the song post!

absolutely love this song.it reminds me of a guy i loved so long ago, in 1986, even though there was 14 years between us, i couldn't stand to be away from him. in 1990, he died in an auto accident. i still think of him, even now.love you always, conway and loretta, for this beautiful song.

Conway & Loretta, it don't get much better...

justinge999 1 year ago
@justinge999 the point is, she keeps interrupting, because she doesn't want to hear what she knows he's gonna say....
grebel82 1 year ago
@grebel82 Thanks for pointing that out..... never would have found that out with my nimble mind...... Do you even know what a joke is?
justinge999 1 year ago
@justinge999 Yes, I know well what a joke is. Sorry, I simply didn't recognise your remark as such; an attempt at humour.... You see, there was no wit, no intelligence in the remark, I just thought you were a stupid teenager, when in fact, clearly, you're a scholar and a man of refinement., good breeding and character. Accept my apologies....
grebel82 1 year ago
@grebel82 Jokes don't require intelligence... And neither does talking to someone like a snobby smart ass. And yes, I have a college degree.... Unlike yourself? And usually when there is an "lol" after something someone says with sarcasm, means there was a joke... Maybe you should work on finding those... Seeing as you have to be a prick to everyone to get your point across.
justinge999 1 year ago
@justinge999 I subscribe to Wilde's view on sarcasm...
Hmmm, making a joke about slapping a woman; gee, I guess my (lack of) edumacation didn't give me smarts enough to find that funny. Shucks....

jdsaratoga 1 year ago
