  • This is the a similar arrangement to what we are playing in our jazz band, although it starts later. Go Tenor! Those runs are beastly hard! Yuck, high D's!

  • great tune...RIP Joe Zawinul.

  • :o sounds like a wrong note at 1:26? anyone else hear that

  • This is the best arrangement, I don't like the one he did when he was way older. really nice

  • It's by Nick Lane, trombonist on right. A lot of the great compositions & arrangements from this period are his.

  • THE GUY CAN BLOW! BRAVO!

  • Awesome...great sax solo...thanks for posting this.

  • oh shit this beats my video!! T_T

  • Nice pants there Maynard, =P

  • lol it was the 70s what do u expect

  • que preçao esses trompete tem em cinistrooooooooooooo

  • Matt Bissonette sure can play a mean bass and his brother went on to play drums for David Lee Roth with Stevie Vai.

  • Don't forget that Greg Bissonette played for Nelson in the 90's too!

  • I didn't know that. Whenever i heard the name Bissonette i always thought Jazz and it blew me away when he went to play with Roth. Thanx for the info vmi3301.

  • the sax player was nasty with what he was playing. I play sax and i'm in awe.

but yeah, the bass is soo sick its not even funny

  • Honestly eh? That sax solo was just mean!

  • It's just great to see how much fun Maynard has on stage! I got to see him live in '05 and he was incredible!

  • Them trombones rock my world! I love jazz, man! That synth sounds ethereal! Groovy!

  • Birdland Rules!!!!!!!!!

    go trumpet!!!!1

  • oh n i must say i have SO much more respect for the bass solo than i do for the sax solo ... he didnt jut blast the crap out of it the whole time, he was so much more technical!! dam sax players =P

  • OH HOW MAD IS THIS!!! so old school!!!

n far out, these guys are tight!! n maynard!! *drools*

  • its important to realize that the early 80s and late 70s are a lot alike in terms of styles in hair, clothing, and, technology aside, music

  • Grazie!!!Anche noi giochiamo qel canzone ma non cosí!Cosí possono solo loro!!

  • jaco style yeahh !!! :P

  • It must be REALLY nice to play with a group of tight and well-adjusted pro musicians! In Jr.H.S. and H.S. I got stuck with a bunch of mediocre shit-asses, playing a list of retard-simple Muscular Dystrophy muzak charts.

  • Could you possibly BE more offensive?

  • Why, yes I can be more offensive, in fact...let me teach you how.

Be my understudy, my young Sky-Wookiee.

Repeat after me, "Big Birds -- Make Big Turds."

  • Yeah, I remember when I had my first beer...

  • (harumph) yeah... Schlitz lite...American pee-wee from the north....

  • that doesn't necessarily mean much, I saw Big Bop Nouveau at the blue note in New York City on July 23rd 2006 and Dennis DiBlasio was playing bari sax then too...man can that guy play...well, damn they all can really play...

  • Thats the 80s! Dennis DiBlasio is playing Bari Sax.

  • I was gonna say...That's early 80's That's Daniel Jordan, Alan Wise and others......and that crazy, on drugs looking drummer who played with him at the Playboy Jazz festival.
