  • THIS MAN WAS A TRUE ANERICAN HERO, NOT JOHN WAYNE. cONGRESS AWARDED JOHN WAYNE FOR AN AWARD AUDI MURPHY SHOULD HAVE

  • Outstanding video, God blessed our country with this gentle man I pray he will inspire all Americans to remember our CONSTITUTION to hold it dear to our freedom and liberty under God.

  • There is a commenter on practically every Murphy page that calls him a psycho. How sad that some people have no better life than to malign a great hero whose life testifies against every pathetic comment made. Even petty movie jabs as if Murphy was the producer/director. Sad.

  • Nicely done. I remember the day he died, he was an amazing man.

  • Sweet documentary. I am impressed somebody as young (sounding) as yourself made this on such an honorable US hero.

Was that man who demonstrated the M1 Garrand of relation to you?

  • Well done!

  • audie was one of my family members

  • Thank you for this great tribute to Major Audie Murphy. My mom knew Mr. Murphy in Famersville and Floyd, Texas. We're attending Audie Murphy Days next month in GREENVLLLE, Texas.

  • It's been said that while John Wayne always played himself in all his movies, Audie Murphy was the REAL John Wayne!

  • Good work, very informative and moving. I remember as a young kid, idolizing Audie Murphy. If anyone ever wanted a definition of the word, "hero", Audie Murphy sums it up. Self sacrifice.

  • Lt. Audie Murphy makes Norris look like a pussy

  • Amazing job! I wonder how many more young students outside Texas have no idea who this GREAT man was. I know here in California they do not, because it is simply not taught to them, which is tragic.... sigh

  • It would be an honor to die by this guy

  • Nice job. I've seen Murphy's birth date as 1926 also. If you think about it, that HAS to be wrong but you had so much to worry about that it would be impossible to check something like that. Again--nice job.

  • chuck norris sucks compare to him

  • Sorry I didn't mean to post that twice

  • This is good, but AUDIE MURPHY was born JUNE 20TH 1924 not 1926 you might

    want to change that.

  • This is good, but Audie Murphy was born June 20th 1924. Something you may

    want to change.

  • You make good points; but I still disagree on several issues.I also study that era and know veterans from all sides of the conflict. They are much the same. Then you have the ones who would be potential serial killers,or mass murderers,on the outside and they hide it in the military through the guise of combat. They just can't stop the killing & look forward to it.There have always been this type of people in society & they do make up a small % of the military in large conflicts.."variables".

  • Nice !! Thanks..

  • Audie Murphy did some amazing things, but that probably was because he was psychotic. He had no regard for his own life and luck was on his side. His 1955 biographical movie (where the footage for this video obviously comes from), was just 10 years after the war; but I suppose he forgot what a German uniform is supposed to look like. The movie was so cheesey; they used the WW1 steel helmets for the Germans and practically no field gear. The famous battle at the end was supposed to be in winter.

  • @M35kriegsmarine Thanx for the clinical eval. The guy is small in stature even for the time and was forged during the depression. Audie spent his whole life fighting for survival and the best that you can come up with is he was psycho. Fighting to stay alive is crazy I geuss? Thank god for them crazy bastards that go in harms way so cowards can rut in their warm beds and contemplate ways to belittle men of courage.

  • @Tarten46 Small in stature for the time? My Dad was 6'2 and was in the 2nd Infantry Division in WW2. People were big then too. And if you had done any reading on Audie Murphy; you would realize that he had no regard for his own life and seemed to enjoy the killing. As for calling me a "coward" I did my military time honorably. Did you?

  • @M35kriegsmarine Men where typically smaller in size during that era. No shit theres variables. Yes Ive studied Audie and others of his generation. People lived more dangerously back then and it shaped their personality/psyche differently than today. Congrats on your service, I did two branches myself. Just because our fathers ran with scissors, without helmets, and knee pads while puffing an un-filterd Pall Mall they were psycho?Same think has labled we vets terrorist on the Congressional floor

  • im going a project on him

the project is about modern heros and he makes the "Modern" time frame

him and a man in iraq that died jumping on a gernade to save his troops

  • Outstanding Job!,

  • you are so young how and where dod you learn about Audie Murphy

  • Awesome Job!

  • One small detail: The woman at the museum says he lived to 47 but I believe he died just a month before his 46th birthday.

  • Texas has something to really boast about...What a Hero!!!

  • THATS COOL A SCHOOL KID KNOWS WHO THIS GREAT AMERICAN HERO IS.GREAT JOB.

  • dude was an absolute beast.

  • a great american jew, we should all be proud

  • @gusswilliams he was irish ya kyke!

  • Thank you for a job well done on this documentary. Several years ago while hiking the Appalachian Trail; we took the Blue Blazed trail a short ways to the memorial plaque that you showed in your video. Never, ever, will there be another soldier to receive as many medals as those that Audie earned. With the high tech weapons that the military uses today, no one will ever be in situations as Audie was. He seemed to make these times a daily occurrence.

  • Nice job, guys. Audie Murphy was an American Hero and I will be thinking of him on this Independence Day, tomorrow. God Bless our American Armed Forces!!

WELL DONE, & I hope you go far & achieve the dreams u have.

  • My grandpa served in the 3rd division during world war II and saw major action at the rhineland crossing, battle of nuremburg, and the sigfreid line or dragons teeth. and was awarded the bronze star and purple heart hes a hero of mine and i plan to follow in his footsteps upon enlisting in the marine corps

  • My son was honored in the Audie Murphy club last week. Only 6 received this honor at that time. i wanted to see just how wonderful of a soldier Audie Murphy was. I can see that in my son!

  • I am a Canadian, but I feel proud of Audie, and I loved his movies.

  • hey kid i hope you got an a+ ...this was awesome

  • Excellent job. Just too bad that few have the courage to serve in the miltary.

  • Well done for a student. You'll notice in his films, when he rides his horses the horses are always on the right lead. Even in difficult shots as seen in the film Night Passage. Rare indeed, as Hollywood films are known for horses on the wrong lead. Its always a treat to watch Audie ride...

  • Im an not a American I am Auustralian, but I feel proud of this man. Thank you Audie Murphy

  • Very nice job! He'd be very proud that you made such a wonderful tribute to him for the young people of our country to view. You've done more than make a video...you've carried on a great mans spirit. Thank you!

  • F&*king Irish...here's to ya!

  • Very meaningful and well done, just like the same words I am sure that the Lord said to Audie Murphy when he entered into Heaven, "Well done Good and Faithful servant."

  • No place but Texas, Excellent. You did well.

  • Well done! :-)

  • @CocaColaBro This is good, but Audie Murphy was Born June 20th 1924. Something you might want to

change. You have 1926 which is wrong.

  • i was there to just a normal grave stone with a few medlas engraved on it

  • Great video man!

Best wishes with your future projects.

  • Very well done.

  • This was excellent!!

  • Real American Hero

  • Very well done young man.

  • I like the use of Red Dawn's theme music

  • Correction on the last posting he was awarded the "Distinguished Service Cross", as you state.

The other friend killed in Italy was Private Joe Sieja. Audie was in the hospital when Joe was killed by a morter shell. In the movie Joe was the one that had the little pocket stove made by Coleman, that little stove was watched by several in the unit to make sure that it went with them as they moved.

    Regards

  • While I'm glad that you and others have taken the time and effort to retell his story but, please check out your information. "Private Lattie Tipton" Audie's best friend and father figure was killed in France by Germans feigning surrendure. Also this is where he wiped out several machine gun nests with the awarding of a "Bronze Star"

    Regards

  • Absolutely great job, son. Thank you.

  • Good job kid.

  • Did this documentary go to state?

  • yah it did
