Ya 1970 was the FIRST year for the cowl induction but the 71's and 72's could also have them. You can buy new cowl hoods for these cars the hoods for 70 thru 72 are all the same

You cant get NEAR a TRUE SS 70, for less than 35 these days...just be careful, a TON of them are clones, make sure you get a build sheet, and matching numbers engine, and a guarentee from the seller..... DONT buy from a Musclecar dealer, they have disclaimers that basically say if its a fake, its up to you to know..... Email me if you need more info AWESOME car this one is though 5 Stars

Beleive it or not, they get closer to 20mpg.

My fuelie 327-before I started rebuilding my car-got close to 25-26 highway.

They get better mileage than people think.

But it really all depends on engine/drivetrain.

I rebuild my car EVERY year, and check/replace fluids/electrical ect. every month.

some guy in my neighbor has a 1970 chevelle SS sittign thare outside in his drive way not moving,,,,im not sure if its got the 454 in it or even if its got the 4 speed rock crusher, but i say what a fucking waste for him to let it sit thare and rot, only a little over 8,770 of those cars were made that year and some dude lets it sit thare and rot,,,it pains me. btu only cause i want it.....

Thats just beautiful! The Chevelle is THE car as far as im concerned when it comes to musclecars. Sure the MOPAR rockets may be loud and brash, but look at this low slung beast with that 454 gurgling under the hood, ready to pounce. That would make any Blue Oval bastard back off.
