  • His buttcheeks can play better than I can lol

  • I love some of his subtle "nuances" if you will. For instance, at the 1:43 mark, his look as he's playing the intro to the crescendo, and at 2:39 when he shouts out "leave me alone!" I simply die laughing at that every time. He was a genius indeed. He was a champion Bösendorfer pianos (I bought one and love it) and really dictates to all of us who have learned, are learning, or want to learn to play piano that it really is, in the grand scheme of it, about having fun.

  • The best!

  • Truly this man was one of the greatest entertainers ever...

  • Got to love Borge's pants! (LOL!!)

  • Of course, you have to be a tremendous artist to pull this off - Borge was much more than a comedian.....a timeless treat indeed!!

  • 何言ってるか分からないけど見てるだけで面白い!

  • Grandios

  • this is the best video i ever watched, i mean it....

  • amazing..they must have spent hours rehearsing that skit !

  • what a fantisc comic arrangement for piano... Borge RULES

  • Getting to this standard of playing the piano is serrious business, but then not taking it seriously at all, that's what we need in this life. Where would we be if we had to take life seriously? Just a pity that he was before my time and he did not come to the country where I grew up. But - the videos are here, so thanks YT and Andre222redline, whoever and wherever you are!

  • @hauptmannbalalaika

Are you saying it's stupid to take life seriously?

  • @Ragtime44Films Yes, I think I am. Remember Tevye in Fiddler on the Roof?

It's no shame to be poor, but it is no great honour, either.

Maybe, as you aquire bruises on life's journey, you would do yourself some damage if you took it all seriously. It's a survival strategy, but some have fewer fights for survival than others.

  • @hauptmannbalalaika

Well it's not stupid to me. But that's my opinion, and it's slightly related to the fact that I'm a Christian. But whatever. It's your opinion and I'm not going to participate in a pointless argument.

And the reason we pianists play is because we love it and aren't paranoid of getting "some damage" because we take it seriously. It's less damage than not taking it seriously.

I'm not going to talk to you anymore. Ok. Bye.

  • I am 70 years old. My grandmother who was 60 when I was born, took us to see Victor Borge in the early 1950s, knowing we would have much laughing out loud, as well as so much wonderful, lively skill on the piano. And we certainly had. Thank you wonderful spirit Victor Borge.

  • I actually loled at this really funny and enjoyable to people who know the hungarian rhapsody no.2

  • Really fun hahaha!!!

  • waoooooooo :)

  • Awesome.

  • I don't think I've ever seen anything by Victor Borge that I didn't like. But can you imagine being the guy he plays with? If you look, you can catch the other guy giggling ... I wonder how long they had to practice this ;)

  • Haha!!!! so funny

  • my goodness. stellar

  • Victor Borge could always make me laugh! Enjoy this!

  • Eccezionale!!!!!!!!

  • @Person0805 To anyone who has every played a duet on the piano, the practical difficulties are trying to be exagerrated here....!

  • Härligt!

  • Definately a favorite!

  • Borge: "Leave me alone!" at 2:40 LOOOOL!!

  • Because anything above the level of slapstick requires wit, intelligence, and creativity. Something the ignorant populace seems to be lacking in.

  • Great!!

  • does anyone know the specific arrangement of this piece cause the original is 18 pages long. please help

  • Fantastic.

  • manden er fandme for skæg

  • This is hilarious!

  • what are they doing lol

  • Tom and Jerry ??? D;

  • Hahaaaa.. Old, but funny;))

  • Very persuasive... but have you heard this performance from 1973 by the Brazilian pianist Roberto Szidon (on Deutsche Grammophon);

    watch?v=oJGKgJuvNdQ

  • Clowns:( bleah...

  • @dimkaodessa Babushkas :( bleah...

  • @dimkaodessa: (Repost of a comment from my old account) Only my humble opinion, but I think Mr Borge showed greater musical integrity by enjoying (and helping others to enjoy) the process of playing and listening than have a thousand other pretentious "serious" performers. And take a look at some of his improvised pieces and his work as a conductor. He was a great musician, and his "clowning" is a part of that.

  • I remember watching him with my mom. Too funny!

  • Having just watched Lang Lang butcher this piece (but having "fun", as some commented), this is truly refreshing. Not only is this much more fun to watch, but the >music< is much more beautiful!

  • very funny! liszt is a classic romantic composer!

  • Nice performance! what the hell XDDD!

  • Borge is one of the best comic musicians I know......I love his comedy......such a music genioius

  • @vahagnini stuffy fellow !

  • esto es genial, habria sido muy feliz verlo en vivo

  • rotzekacke

  • This is really really funny :-))) And he could really really play! thanks for sharing.

  • Victor Borge - The class clown of classical piano. People sometimes tend to think of him as just a novelty act but he was very accomplished and could play on the same level with many acclaimed pianists of his generation.

RIP Victor...and thanks for the memories !

  • Its funny BECAUSE he is so accomplished! Ahhhh the memories!

  • @tempusfugit13579 Indeed !

  • ahhhhhhhh pissed myself .... lol

  • i can't play this piece with my fingers and he can play it with his ass :))))))))

  • Fantástico!

  • Haha

  • Very cool!!

  • Who is the other guy in this video?

  • The other pianist is Zhahan Azruni...they were great together.

    haha

  • This was hilarious!!! I just want to see this over and over again :) Is Victor Borge the man who speaks during the piano piece?
