September 22, 1968, correct? It amazes me how everything on the Internet is now "timeless" (clueless?)--as if no one knows or cares if a clip is from 1995 or 1965.... BTW in case anyone on here thinks this was from a mere 10 years ago and that this man is still tinkling the ivories--I've got news for you: He's been dead for 20 years.
At 2:23, it shows Horowitz's face from when he performed the Chopin Ballade from earlier that concert. Take a look at "horowitz plays chopin first ballade", 5 minutes 30 seconds. Wonder why...
Just a note to say that orchestra hall is now called symphony center (sadly) the home of the Chicago symphony and they record in that great hall with it's excellent sound on Michigan ave. downtown Chicago.
I can look and see if i still have a program but he did not play the showy chestnuts like this so much, it was a straight program and i taped it from a upper balcony seat at orchestra hall but the cassette may be poor by now and i just moved but if i find it I can tell pretty much what he played, will look next month after the holidays, lots of tapes to sort out from the move. He was in great shape when he did that recital.
Please, could someone tell me what's the name of this documentary?

Horowitz plays with this lighthearted mimicry that reminds me of when the monty python boys act a female role. So funny and so sharp.

amazing virtuosity and musicality..... a horowitz recital was always an 'occasion'.
this youtube software is very clunky - comments don't seem to show..... no doubt this will now be posted twice......

In 1975 I was lucky enough to hear him live in Chicago in recital, I will never forget it to my dying day. Fantastic in all he did.
