  • Lots of these crack your lower back.

  • I use those a lot and it works. For the hamstring stretch I like to use a rubber band or a rolled towel; that way you dont have to contract your quads to lift the leg. Thus relaxing your leg muscles completely, the stretch becomes more effective. Don't forget to exhale while you stretch.

  • this is a good video but i would advise anyone with lower back pain to go to a physio 1st before trying any stretching,i have been getting trouble with my lower back for a few weeks and was at a very good physio this morning,my back pain was stemming from my hips and the lack of flexibility in them through years of working on roofs,IFA is the term he used,i was given 5 stretches to do every day for the next week before i go back.sorry for rabbiting and good luck to everyone!

  • Excellent video - concise, friendly and helpful. Many thanks.

  • hey...would this help me be able to touch my toes? i can't touch my toes while standing up without bending my knees...and i need to be able to do this to help myself in the gym with squats and deadlifts, it would be a lot safer and more beneficial if i was stretchier!

  • your a genius mate

  • I like the part where she stretches

  • i wouldnt advise anyone to do any exrcise BEFORE taking Xpictures, you are at risk of aggravating your injury

  • @elimar008 I agree. Back problems are not necessarily caused by a lack of flexibility. Most who are in reasonable health are flexible enough. Problems normally arise from poor-posture and muscle imbalances. Someone with a bad back would probably benefit more from strengthen the torso muscles and doing corrective exercises to promote good posture, but again, nobody can prescribe anything without examinating the problem.

  • Id like to excercise my back giving her doggy style

  • 0:39 Nuff said.

  • Anymore other stretches to relief chronic tight muscles? ")

  • My dad had a TERRIBLE back accident from racket ball. This will be a good shape for him.Well he was practicing racket ball in the morning.

  • You are a God amongst men. For the first time in four monhs I just walked away without pain. After about 30 mins of stretching. Thank you so much!

  • since back pain often cosed by tightness of muscle of the back and legs that are great exercises to relax muscles of the back and ease the back pain. As a medical doctor I often show that exercises to my patients in my daily practise. Thanks for sharing.

  • the girl has a nice body :)

  • Great ...thanks.

  • @ TeamStealth I was doing the Camel back bent, and im not that flexible, so once i did it, my back lower was hurt, its been 2 months but i can't move my back backwards, not even a little.. my knees were also hurt, its feels wrong when i walk.. what could have happened to my back?!

  • I'm only 19 years old, but I have horrible back pain (numerous doctors said a surgery may be inevitable) due to basketball, dunking a lot, etc. All of these stretches I do prior to playing and sometimes afterwards to try an alleviate back pain. One of my physicians however said that that "pop" you get in your back is probably one of the reasons for my back pain because it's reducing the cartilage resulting in greater friction (or something of this sort). I'm not sure what to believe honestly.

  • Did them right now for a minute, felt like my whole back pop and all the tension went away. I feel great and my back feels all loose I now do this every-time I do a sport or insanity. Thanks a lot man

  • FKIN THANK YOU! Ive been doing push ups recently and i did a couple wrong, so it ended in me having a AAAAAAAAAAAAAAH! (back hurts as i write this) shit.... lower back pains... so im hoping this will help X_X thx

  • thank you so much. I'm 20 years old and I play soccer and I work with kids - so I am a very active person but my back has just been killing me recently. These stretches have helped a lot.

  • short,, concise and best of all very informative... Thanks a lot...

  • hahaha the ending was so awkward..

But an informative video none the less

  • Thanks for sharing :)

  • I just loved these exercises ! I go to dance classes and lately I've got terrible lower back pain as all the movements we make ( waves, circles with the chest and the pelvis, eights) involve mostly right the lower part of the back. I've tried many exercises posted on youtube and found yours to be most helpful ! Thank you for posting them ! :)

  • these stretching exercises are the most common and the ones who work more than ever. i love them. they help you gain flexibility as well.

  • Great one man

  • Thanks a bunch... much appreciated!

  • Nice video with good slow clear instructions and no stressing music in the background.

  • great vid, great legs.

  • 0:50- i wouldn't lift your head up...it can strain your neck.

you can increase that stretch by straightning your bottom leg or pulling your upper leg towards you:) just something i was taught.....

  • Finally a good video in order to stretch my hamstrings and my back! How long should I hold al the stretches? About a minute for each side?

  • @mwmiggels Muscles in people have a protection mechanism that prevents them from being pulled or damaged by unexpected strain. It takes about 5-8 seconds for this natural reaction to release the muscle into a stretch. So any stretch you do should be held for at least 15-20 seconds to get the benefit of stretching from the pose. Holding stretches for longer than that is perfectly acceptable and if you have exceptionally tight muscles you might find yourself sinking deeper into the stretch.

  • @mwmiggels it depends on your flexibility, I would suggest 30 seconds.

  • @mwmiggels 15-30 seconds should do the trick. Really try to let yourself relax into the stretches, and don't force them. The longer you hold the more your muscles should release into the stretch.

  • thank u i didnt do but one but i do them another timed going somewhere adios

  • PLEASE HELP ME! To make a long story short I dead lifting for football workouts and pretty much use my back to pick up 420 pounds, and right after i finished the rep I felt it immediately. That whole day I could bend over or look with using my head. It's been 2 months and it still hurts, I seen I chiropractor and all he does is align my spine buy it doesn't seen to help. I have also seen my Dr. But all he says is bed rest and muscle relaxants and anti-inflammatory. So can some one please tell m

  • @kingjoker510 Well I´m no psysician but it sounds like you should strengthen your back muscles before doing another lifting exercize. A lot of ppl take on swimming to strengthen their back.

I´d totally recommend that you see another expert (maybe a fysiotherapist?).

    Good luck!

  • Lol look like sex positions

  • these are really good stretchs thanks for posting!

  • really simple super and effect one

  • this looks like a good warm up before deadlifts :)

  • @DawgFL Shows you have little understanding of the muscular structure supporting the back and posterior chain.

  • @DawgFL Also we're not trying to stretch the 'spine' which is a bone structure - hence doesn't stretch.

We're aiming to stretch muscles and ligaments.

  • If my backpain doesn't stop im gonna put a bullet in my head maybe ill think about that lol its not just backpian my kidneys hurt my lungs my heart my balls lol and i still have to work 8 hrs a day driving a lawnmower no time to do exercises.........

  • i have a lordotic lumbar and had an accident when i was quite little (about 11-12 years ago); fell down the stairs and hurt my tail bone & lumbar area. i used to play a lot of tennis and other exercises, but few years ago i stopped because my lower back pains became more and more painful whenever i play sports and do exercises like sprints, sit-ups and other tennis-portion exercises. i've recently started going back to the gym. should i do this stretch before or after the other exercises? Thx

  • Stretching is good for anyone, at any age.

  • please how do i strech to do the bridge??

  • i have a question, back in 2004 when i started running i was making much progress and was up to 4 miles. but now when i am running i can only get almost a mile and my lower back starts hurting...its feels like my muscles are tightening up and i have to stop because it hurts. Do you have any ideas why that could be? and what i should do?

  • Ahah at the end... And yah I'm having lower back pains too.D=

  • These exercises can help in treating lower back pains.

  • when i put my head forward pointing my chin towards my chest, i can feel my lower back pull.

suggestions as to what this may be?

  • Thanks for the video. I try to do alot of stretches in the morning before I get out of bed because that's when my back is at its' worst...terrible pain in lower back, eased only by stretching or getting out of bed and moving around for about 10 minutes.

  • i like this one

  • This is one of the best videos I've seen on lower back pain exercises, I tried the first 2 and it really helped. I no longer have any back pain. Great explanation & very easy to do!

  • lovely, thanks! Will do these right away :) and way to introduce proper stretches in just a minute and a half!

  • he is wearing livestrong :D

  • WORK HARD PLAY HARD!

  • Regular Exercises Can Heal Back Pains

  • All 3 exercises great for stretching the lower back either as a preventative measure or for rehabilitating a back injury / herniated disc. Most people with a herniated disc won't be able to stretch nearly as far as the girl in the video but don't let that discourage you if that's your diagnosis. Slow and controlled movements are the key, and just go until you feel a comfortable stretch. Good video.

  • i have a sharp lower back pain when running, jumping, and anything else with high impact. we have ruled out sacroliac joint dysfunction, and have had an MRI on the area and nothing seems to be wrong, but i still have the sharp pain. what should i do?

  • @goodnotgreat559 obviously seek medical advice on youtube...

  • Might want to add the suggestion to do a light warm up even before stretching. Stretching extremely tight muscles/tendons without a light warm up could and sometimes does end up in an injury. I normally jump on the bike or treadmill for about 10 minutes first.

  • That first stretch is the one I learned from a physical therapist when I was recovering from a lower back injury.

  • U ppl are stupd with your comments...

Thanks for the videos.. they are good.

  • the best back excersize is to sit in a chair and rotate ur back left to right and feel it cracking.. and also another one.. lay down on a bed with ur feet touching the ground so actually only ur back is on the bed and ur arms back ..the back feels the pressure taken off... so guys try these excersizes!

  • the best thing is to sit in a chair and rotate ur back to both sides and hear ur back crack.. also lay down on ur bed with ur feet touching the floor so only ur back is actually on the bed and hands up...such a good stretch

  • @Huriccanes9494 Its because he is an aussie!!!! you post a video and you translate it into ENGLISH!!

  • @Huriccanes9494 lol hahahaha it is!

  • @Huriccanes9494 translate what? i thought it was pretty clear and to the point. most people crap on and crap on.

  • thanks!

  • very nice butt !

  • you aren't doing it right so you don't feel the back stretch. If you do it properly it's really a good back stretch. When you do the first one make sure BOTH legs go down and not just the leg closest to the floor - a lot of people do that and it makes the stretch almost useless and then they complain that they can't feel any stretching.

Nice language too. Way to treat professionals who are giving you something for free :)

  • Great stretches, good vid. I especially liked the 'extra add on' for the first stretch where you lift the upper leg further. never seen that before but it's really good.

  • OK. Thanks for sharing.

  • I have a sharp pain shoot when I move my neck. In between my shoulder blades slightly to the right. Any home remedies available? I am in much pain and would love some help!

  • That sounds to me like some form of nerve impingement. I would be looking to get Chiro or Physio advice before anything else.

  • ive just had back surgery 3 months ago, whats a good lower back routine for after surgery, is this ok?

  • Depends what you've had done. Hard to give details without knowing any.

  • @TeamStealth Hi i have a pain in my lower back near the bottom (slightly to the right) do you know what this is??

  • @surfingrox111 there is a possibility that your SI is out of place, any physical therapist or even their assistant could easily check and correct that for you. Lay flat on a mat, do a bridge lift, then have someone pull on your legs to see if you have any leg length differences. If so, then that may be your problem.

  • Good exercises, lol'd at the awkward walk away at the end :D

  • @leumasnehpets discetomy L5 left side

  • @leumasnehpets the reason why he did an awkward walk away is because he wanted to have sex with the girl LOL OLOLOLOLOLOL

  • how many times should u do each of these and how long should u hold each?

  • Hart Gym Mat, yes he is Australia

  • THIS IS GREAT!
