@pasi68 You are wrong. Firstly it is a film about the Russian penal battalion. The priest just joined him. During WW2 there were different amazing cases. Second, since the beginning of the war, Stalin made​an indulgence of the Russian Church, to inspire people. The church has actively participated in the events. For example collecting money for the purchase of arms

The series this clip is taken from are called Shtrafbat (Penal Batallion). It is about the soldiers and civilians who committed some kind of a crime and so were sent to the most difficult parts of the front line "until first blood" (until they are wounded) or commit an act of heroism, like bringing back a high ranking German POW.

The series were interesting until they brought in the crazy priest. That sort of ruined the ending. (in my opinion) :-))

I really wonder if a regiseur would be allowed to show his movie if he made one about the real eastern front, where the red army lost exacly: 10,651,000 and the axis forces: 4,428,000.

Its a fact that in pretty much every battle, even trougth those the russians won, the soviets always lost more personal. Look up the battles, even in 1944 they embarrased themselves losing 14 times more men at narva.

@bloodyblade24 there were many monks and priest who fought against the nazis and for escaping citizents in their towns/farms/cities that sacrificed themselves and died heroic deaths to defend the weak instead let children, men and women get raped or killed and some became saints and even in battle many had seen miracles happen wtih these guys but not many are like these but when it comes to it christianity is always awsome to me :D
