I've watched a bunch of these reviews and clips, and not one has said anything about the built in 5.1 sound. All the other camera's I've seen you need an attachment for it, if at all. My question, is how does it sound, they won't give the bit rate in the specs, anywhere. That's about the only thing stopping me from buying this.

@EgalMatreaux I use this camera for 2D only. The 3D aspect of this camera overshadows it's great performance as a 2D camcorder. As you say there is 5.1 sound and the sound level is controllable. If that's not good enouhg there is a mic input and a hot shoe mount with adaptor on the side. Check out my channel and you will see some of the results - but watch in HD.

@baldyal I ended up picking up a Zoom Q3HD, as at the time, Panasonic model wouldn't ship over the border, warranty issues. I love the sound I get outta the Zoom, it may only be true stereo, but it records above CD quality. Thanks for the response, I'll be sure to check your video out.

People... It's the very first consumer HD 3D camcorder... WAIT! See what else comes to the market in a few years, and maybe give 3D TVs a chance to get their foot in the door before you go buying a 3D camcorder. Last i checked you need a 3D screen to even view your footage correctly.
