I really hate Mr. C in this episode. He sounds just like my mother who plays the guilt trip game. I thought it was very selfish of Mr. C to say to Richie and what about all I have done for you. He sounds just like my mother.
Mr. C isn't being selfish. This business deal will mean a lot in the long run but Richie's date will never develop into anything real like marriage. It will probably be a one night stand or a really short relationship. Richie was wrong and he was the one being selfish.
Again, thanks for putting this out. But it's a shame what happened to this show. As soon as they added the studio audience, all the subtely was gone from the acting (notice how they went from talking to shouting) and the jokes got obvious. Of course, the American public loved it this way. Oh well.

Although he had some redeeming qualities from day one, he became pregressively more likable as the years progressed. By season eleven, he was the ultimate in chuch going, library card carrying guys! Oh baby!
love tipsy marion... ;-)

In my opinion, there were selfish motives on both sides of the coin in this episode.

Mr. C seems to get selfish during the whole series and I guess when you want your business to do well, you want things your way.

Talk about laying a guilt trip on your Son. Hate to say it but MR. C is selfish.
