Hobbit descended from Autralapithecus, along with Homo Sapiens. The Hobbits moved out of southen Africa along with te Homo Saiens about 70,000 years ago. The Hobbits spread widely, as their remains have been found in Flores, as well as modern day Romania. The Hobbits eventually declined in range and numbers, and may be extinct, as a separate species, by now. Homo Sapiens may well carry Hobbit genes in their genome - notably; with things like midget-ism and dwarf-ism.
