I owned a 1982 Dodge Aries Station Wagon, exactly like this one, even down to the same color. Boy, there is no greater chick magnet than a brown used Aries wagon. It was destroyed by a hit skip truck.
The 1981 Ks did not have roll down rear door windows. Chrysler fixed that booboo for 1982. Unlike GM which saddled their A/G body RWD intermediates with fixed rear door windows for the entire run (1978 to 1986).
Mc donalds styrofoam containers and a k-car with no rear window winders. 1981's didnt have wind down rear windows. what a simpler time and we all lived to tell about it!!
The 80s were a better place in time compared to today. Here is a functional family enjoying time together while getting chores done. They were too busy enjoying life to worry about seat belts, cholesterol, or fashion.
@webmanc i agree with you partly. the world functions at a far greater rate of speed now, but we live longer, have lower food prices, enormous strides in health care, and so on. i loved the 80s too, great memories, but we're better off today.

Or, mid 80's when I was young and single, when skirts were short, heels were high, and hair was tall! Fun era, great memories.

@landyachtfan79 It is an 81. 81s were the only Ks to have operational rear door vent windows, which this sedan cleary has.

My aunts first car was a Reliant 4-door. My most vivid memory of it was how you couldn't roll down the back windows. That was pretty funny!

1981s had pivoting rear vent windows. '82s could be had with roll down windows. The K-cars were simple but dependable.

i think that model of Plymouth rated highest in being able to nestle the most dropped fries under each seat before being vacuumed out.

I miss the old McDonald's styrofoam containers; at least they kept your food warmer longer!!!

No seatbelt for the kids or the adults. I thought the 80's were an enlightened time. ;)

Both Mom & Dad were wearing seat belts & the kid in the back was wearing a lap belt. The 1981 Aries/Reliant didn't have rear shoulder belts.
