  • Hey, with the $50,000, she can pay for Geoff's chiropractic expenses. Or maybe she WAS a chiropractor.

  • 3:18 did she faint?

  • I remember this show. This show used to be on WNEW-TV (channel 5) in the afternoons since I was a kid, but I also remember the show when it was on CBN back in the 80's along with "Name That Tune" and "Let's Make a Deal". I remember CBN all the time before it became the Family Channel, Fox Family which is currently ABC Family.

  • Wow I use to love this show...

  • At least she didn't say Zonk.

  • @ 1:30 the famous two words.

  • That was the biggest check (and biggest cash prize) ever awarded on Treasure Hunt or any Chuck Barris-produced game show in the history of television.

  • First time in my life that I've seen a host receive the Heimlich maneuver. Watch for yourself at 3:11

  • Gotta love how Geoff Edwards builds tension on this show.

2:55 $50,000! *cue the victory music and drop the balloons*

  • howd she win she didnt pick 42 lol you can see it in the background

  • @TheCarrShow Emile Auturi must not have been a Douglas Adams fan.

  • Yep, Geoff Edwards was dealing with a 'samoan' problem. Bob Barker can relate!!!

  • @JBTHREAT At least Geoff could handle it. Bob couldn't.

  • Did Treasure Hunt set a limit for returning champions?

  • I'm pretty sure they didn't, since the luck element was so prevalent. The odds of a player picking even five boxes is 1 in 32.

  • There were no Returning Champions! You are picked at random to come up stage and try to win the $50,000. If you choose the right box, very good!

  • @Jiltedin2007 Incorrect. Whoever got to pick a box would be carried over to the next game. In the earlier version of this show, though, each game had three new players.

  • Oh you're kidding me! I only remember the Treasure Hunt Game Show from back in 1973 or 1974. Did they make another version of this show later after that?

The version I remembered when everyone in te Audience had a gift to open. If they opened it with the numbers 1, 2, or 3, they were to come up stage.

And when they came up stage each Contestant would get a Jack in the Box to open, lowest number picking first. And if she got Jack popping out, she would be able to play Treasure Hunt.

  • @Loogaroo1 Yeah, this version started in 1980 and ran for about a year.

  • I think Rose ended up with over $57,000.

  • @ 1.30 the quote in question

  • the famous Jamaica mistake.

  • Great way to get your back adjusted. Or broken.

  • Does anyone have an episode of Treasure Hunt when Rose won $50,000 and the lady got klunked?

  • Do you have the woman who won a Rolls Royce and collapsed on stage?

  • Yeah, I have the episode on hard drive at home.

  • I think TimFrith24 wanted you to upload it. I could be wrong, but it's ultimately your choice.

  • How about the one where the clunked lady came back on and complained after she learn where the $25,000 really was?

  • this was great!!!

  • My dad worked on all kinds of game shows from the 60's to the 80's.

Rhyme and Reason, Dating Game, Newlywed game, Treasure Hunt, and lots of others! He was definately a game show lover! He produced and created lots of shows.

  • Who is your dad?

  • S. Friedman

  • Ah, I see. Being a game show lover myself (of those games from the 1960s-2000) I am impressed! I'd be honored to link up with you here on YouTube!

  • I was at this taping when I was a kid!

My dad was a producer on this show and took me to his work that day!

I totally remember this from 29 years ago!

  • That's awesome!!!

  • when players won the check, were they retired? or did they get to keep playing?

  • No, they kept on playing. Rose didn't get past the next jack-in-the-box, though.

  • geoff must be like bob barker always getting picked up in the air by large women

  • If this show was on today, the confetti would be gone out of fear someone would slip and sue. Geoff Edwards is cool tho'.

  • I used that show on WNEW-TV (channel 5) back when I was a kid. I also remember that show when it was on the good old CBN (long before it was Family Channel, Fox Family and now ABC Family) back in the early to mid-80's.

  • geoff sure as hell was lucky he didnt get knocked down by that woman's family, she sure was happy to get $50K when he gave her the good news.

  • Crazy family & big win, huh?

  • @floridapanthersroar I saw that show on the Game Show Network back in the early 200's and this one is pure classic I got to see the one win Bob Barker got picked up by the Samoan.

  • in my opinion, Geoff is underated as a host

  • Would you have the clip where Michelle turned down a check for $46K, only to have her husband walk out of the studio in anger?

  • I do, although I'm sure it's probably already out there somewhere, so there's no need to post it.

  • LOL I remember seeing that...didn't he tell her to take the money if i remember correctly

  • Yes. Yes, he did, and he was obviously not happy about it.

  • that is biggest check payoff in Treasure Hunt history better than Let's Make a deal

  • It's not fair to compare Treasure Hunt's prizes to LMaD's. The odds of winning the big check on TH are 1/66, plus they only play two games an episode. LMaD gave away far more on average than Treasure Hunt did - especially when you add in the Super Deal bonuses they were doing in the '70s.

  • I remember this game show. Memories. I liked the box guy with the beard and mustache.

  • I LMAO when she threw the winning box into the air! XD

  • I need that right now, I would like that feeling, you dont know what people are going through that they need that money. The way she reacted she really needed that. thank you jesus

  • LOL @ HER REACTION! (i probably woulda reacted that way too, but it's still pretty funny nonetheless.)

  • "JAMAICA FEELING" LOLOL! CLASSIC!

  • Beyond excited if you ask me!

  • WOW! She was WAY excited!!!
