This video makes me feel like I should know who they are with the 30 second mini credits but I've never heard of this band until today. Pretty top song though
@edenobrien i agree, it doesnt bring the tension to fever pitch and then fucking explode. i think they should have just done a live vid for it with the title card saying "play this fucking loud"
Very nicely shot....just honestly don't like this nearly as much as say...Sigur Ros' Glosoli (they also have a video with kids running). It's all a bit predictable. Maybe if this would've come out 5-10 years before. I respect the intention though and the motivation.
Interesting that they re-recorded for this version (well, at-least the vocals and mixing). Ellery's vocals are clearer, although I prefer them on the album version. That said, this version adds more obvious backing vocals from Tom, which sound really good. I saw them a few weeks back and I have to say one of the biggest shocks was just how brilliant his backing vocals are.
didnt think that much of the music, but the chap in the striped shirt did a good job! in fact they all did (getting on that little raft!) lol, kiddin really, great vid ('o',)
WU LYF isn't about Satanism. In fact, the word 'Lucifer' isn't even mentioned in the bible. It means 'light-bearer' or becoming enlightened and if you connect all the dots, it fits perfectly with the WU LYF message.
I was worried when I first started listening to WU LYF that it was just going to be a trendy little act based on "hashtagable" words and obnoxious angsty satanic undertones, like an indie equivalent to Odd Future. Glad I was wrong.
This vid solidifies what I've thought WU LYF is really all about...the 'Lucifer' is what society tells you is evil: being free, not giving a shit about money, career, etc. LYF is telling you to embrace all that - just like the kids did when they jumped the fence. Looking back they see the trap they broke free from.
This album, and band, is the musical personification of Wordsworth's Tintern Abbey. In other words, fucking brilliant.
@pwil30 Or it the 'Lucifer' could just stand for Lucifer. Most of their songs are about worshiping one'self and self-indulgance which is basically what Satanism is about
i wanted to be in this video

@RomanceDies the whole album is a live recording... in a church

Whoever remastered this really fucked it up. Seriously. The vocals sound better on the album.

sounds like they re-recorded this song in a studio, rather than in a church like the album version. still sounds good though.

i swear this recording is different to the one on the album?

@EatCloudsYep I think it might be a remaster? Either way, this version sucks way harder. The album is amazing.
